I have an almost identical one from Stanley, which I use as a stationary shop vac. It lives under my workbench. I made four modifications: 1) Cyclone. I purchased the cheap cyclone & bucket on Amazon & Wallace & Gromit'ed it together with duct tape & a few bolts. Has worked like a charm, with very little dust getting as far as the bag & HEPA filter. I just empty the bucked every few weeks. Total cost was no more than £30. 2) Powerstrip. All my major tools are plugged into a power strip, which in turn plugs into the vacs command strip (only one tool ever in use at a time). I also added an emergency stop button to my workbench, with the vac wired into it. 3) I dismantled the vac to get the on/off/command button & extended it to sit next to the emergency stop button on my workbench. This means easy access. Got fed up of feeling around under the bench constantly! 4) I made a wall mounted blast gate tube. A hose goes from it to the cyclone. The system is a hollow rectangular tube made from a thin synthetic wood & held together with superglue! There are 10 DIY blast gates made of the same material (basically little pull out tabs) which align with 10 hoses that are permanently attached & run to the powertools. Despite being held together with superglue, it has worked perfectly for a year now. The hoses were scavenged from the tip & Freecycle etc... When I want to use a tool I just need to make sure the bench mounted button is set to 'command', pull out the blast gate tab on the wall mounted gizmo & fire away. It makes dust collection super quick & easy. This system took me about a year to fully develop, with several incrimental steps but it is my pride & joy. Not seen a setup exactly like it on KZread. I should really make a video to share the idea :) This comment will have to do for now lol

Hi Dean, just cottoned on to your channel. Watched a couple of vids and I'm hooked. I was going to purchase one of those wet n drys from Wickes but thanks to your review, I plumped for the Hyundai model which is the same price, except thanks to your code I got a fiver off. Cheers. Great review mate and keep up the good work.👍😃

Great video as usual. Ordering on the laptop was a palaver as the website thinks Kent is in Northern Ireland and will not process the order. ;-) Works OK on the phone. And the code works, which is great!

Dean, the 'Tonka Toy' switch is those snowflakes that use thick work gloves... ;) PS. Mahusive error with the suction volume test - on the Van the meter fits nearly 100% of the aperture - on the w/shop system your sucking at LEAST 50% plain air so no wonder the readings are a similar percentage difference

Yep, agreed, however I had no form of reference other than telling you it’s more powerful as I feel it, but that doesn’t really help anyone
Definitely looks to be a great deal for £99 👍. The new backdrop looks very good too 👌😁.

Hi. Great review. I went online to have a further look and it’s down to £79.99!! More of a bargain albeit it’s currently out of stock 🤦🏼
Hi Dean great review 👍👍. Can I ask does the curved pipe not fit onto the stainless steel extension for storage 🤔🤔. Back drop looks so different also 👍👍 take care mate keep up the good work 🙏🏻👏👏👏

I don’t really know what to update to be honest, it’s still doing what it should generally. Could do with a more powerful vac than my old Numatic though. I’m yet to attach everything since moving the workshop around so I have to get into that asap

Hi loving the videos , do you know if a Henry hoover hose will screw on to the hoover , there is a larger bore yellow hose on Amazon that I’m thinking of getting to go with this vac , cheers
@WoodworkJourney

I have no idea, wouldn’t think so, and the hose bore on the machine works well for the size of the outlet
Mate that really sucks. Look for pool filter socks. They are cheap and will make your filter last longer. I wish we had that unit here in the USA. Just the automatic switch by itself is $30 US. Great buy! Take care

Thanks, no idea though I’m afraid. Based on the fact it’s really a small affordable vac I would imagine it’s generally ordinary shop hand tools. For things like tablesaws and lathes etc with big motors I imagine a HVLP system would be more beneficial

On the PDF that you can download from the website it says: "do not connect any electrical equipment to the electronic power socket that exceeds the maximum power of 2000W"
Hi just come across your channel, I run a 4x4 specialists and we are looking for a super powerful vac to cut our cleaning process down before wet vaccing carpets and the odd dog hair etc. Do you recommend something upto £300. Thankyou
I’m really surprised how quiet it is for 100 quid!

That is indeed a bargain! Had a "Dust Buddy" with a cyclone attached, worked very well, but the motor made such a ruckus I finally saved up for a festool mini CTL.

While it’s more powerful in the test in the video, the full lengths of pipe for the plumbed in system would weaken the flow too much. That’s why I mentioned the triple motor version they have 😊

Hose length and diameter differences kinda negate the suck test you did.... For 99 squid it looks like a well decent portable shop vac.

Dean, ive got some things that are meant for swimming pool filters. They resemble them things that grans used to wear(think they called pop socks). It looks as if they were designed for the vac. Incidently my vac is same speck as yours. They fit percectly around filter, length & diameter. I put 1 on the hole that blo ows out also. Loads in packet. I could send you some if you have an address or shop i could send them.

Thank you Steven, I think the fact I’m using a bash means it wouldn’t achieve much, it catches most and the little stuff gets stopped by the HEPA filter. I have the foam one if I ever use it for fluid though 😊
