Sonny's statement is brilliant. He knows Rodrigo and his statement should put the whole thing to bed. In my opinion, i think it's clear that Bentancur never meant to insult Sonny and all this virtue signalling should just stop before it causes underserved harm to player and club.

He said something without intending any harm. How one reacts to what he said depends solely on one's sensitivity. To some people it was just a casual, honest response to the interviewer's question. Maybe he, like many other people, do find that Koreans do look somewhat alike. Similarly, I'm sure some Koreans do find Caucasian Brits, or even Indians, look alike. It's just a common phenomenon and saying it does not make one a racist. I feel that it would serve humanity and understanding better if people do not get all touchy and upset at the slightest mention of anything regarding race. The world has enough problems without adding more unnecessary sensitivities. We can only be better together the more we accept each other without drawing more fine lines of behaviour and speech. It's not as though Rodrigo ranted at Sonny in abusive terms. The bloke was just expressing something without any racist intent.

I know some people don't think Son is a great captain, while he's not like a Roy Keane type, I really think his behaviour and ability to lead by example is always so impressive and his statement is another sign of that in terms of putting the team first even if he might think differently in private

I think I have a rather unique perspective on the Lolo/Sonny situation. My mother was from Uruguay (I’m a big Bentancur fan) and my father was Asian (from the Philippines). It seems to me that Son is rightfully beloved by everyone on the club, and that Rodrigo didn’t mean anything mean-spirited. No doubt the remark was stupid, but I think both men are good people, and will work it out between themselves. We’ve all said things we regret, and nobody is perfect. Sonny understands this and, as usual, has handled everything with true grace. We should follow his lead.

Mr. Slater, as a korean i want to thank you for covering the subject with tact and sensitivity. The biggest positive from all this is the ground swell of support from Spurs fans. Finally, some other sources talking about McKennie again. Thoughts? At his best, a holding-type mid who can also bring the ball forward. As a secondary motive, we rekindle the American market.

I mean, in truth, I'm not always sure what that really means...but I assume in means the buying club wants the move, the player wants the move, the player's agent wants the move, and now it's "just" a matter of how much the buying and selling clubs are willing to give. I say "just" because I know OUR club is also run by Daniel Levy. Still, I also think that players do hold some power in the equation. So, if I'm right that Toney wants the move...

If Levy values Cuti, he would. It's a measure of how much he values Romero. Madrid have over the years bought out best players like Bale and Modric and it's more likely than not that they'd come for Romero who's arguably our best centre back in years.
