I love to watch the reactions from people hearing Barbra Streisand for the very first time. It never fails to surprise and please people. Her voice is magical... once described..."like buttah". I was very impressed with how much you elicited from the song, which is spot on by the way to the essence of the movie in which Barbra starred in, alongside Robert Redford. The song was written by Alan & Marilyn Bergman and Marvin Hamlisch, and went on to win an Oscar for Best Original Song for a Motion Picture. Barbra would work with Hamlisch and The Bergmans pretty much throughout her 60+ year career. As they once said about her..."The best singer that any lyric writer could ever have singing their song." As for Barbra... as the saying goes... you ain't heard nothing yet. She is considered by many as the greatest vocalist of all time. She's the only artist in recording history to chart an album at #1 in six consecutive decades. Her catalog runs the gamut of just about every genre out there... Broadway, Classical, Soft Rock, Pop, R&B, Soul, Disco, and even a bit of Country and Reggae. She's won just about every award and accolade imaginable. Her vocal gift, which has never had any training, accompanies her innate abilities to interpret a lyric and sing it to the heart. I hope you will showcase more Barbra. This is a voice and talent that is timeless and should never be forgotten. She also has three albums of nothing but duets with some of the greatest singers over the last 60 years...from Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra to Celine Dion and Michael Buble... there's even a live onstage performance a few years ago with Ariana Grande.... over 40 in all. Thanks for a great reaction. Subscribing to your channel.

This was the #1 song of '74. The studio album also hit #1. The movie was #5 at the box office for '73 and Barbra was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actress. She's the only artist to have #1 albums in 6 consecutive decades.

She is simply all-world brilliant, no matter what she sings, which I think is rare. The theme song from Eyes of Laura Mars "Prisoner" is an another epic example of her power and range. She also starred in the remake of A Star is Born in the 70's and her ending performance in the movie "With One More Look at You/Are You Watching Me Now" is also her peek singing/acting chops. Really pure.

As people have prob said in the comments she is a singer who's also an actress the same as Bette midler. She's very good at holding the longest note.try woman in love for this. There have been 4 versions of the movie a star is born.the 2nd being janes mason, judy garland(another singer who acted)the most recent had lady gaga.barbara did the 3rd. She's also worked with barry gibb from the bee gees.

When she was trying to expand beyond Broadway, she sang duets with Neil Diamond, the BeeGees and others. A decade or so ago, she did it again with many fine artists. This is a link to the updated version of her duet with Barry Gibb (the last BeeGee) only this is with John Legend. "What kind of fool".
