Most frustrating thing ive noticed on some platforms is when i share my dislike to some of these fashionista tributes like the totally hair and more recently the iconic golden dream and black barbie tributes, There will always be a clapback from some collectors that say in their reply, "these are playline so the clothes and styles are for playline" Mind you if they actually really knew the history of barbie. They would know that pretty Much barbie has always been a playline in each decade of each genre. I think the special collector's dolls really started getting pushed out during the late mid eighties, Starting with our christmas barbies, Then the special collector's dolls. Like i love lucy, iconic movies like wizzard of oz, elvis, harley Davidson (for example bc there were so many pre barbie signature line barbies collector's edition).The bob mackey barbies , those were collectibles, Of course mattel marketed on this and created the whole barbie signature line, looks, and sepecial collector signature line. And of course the fashionistas. The positives: We get some of the most beautiful and diverse dolls of so many ethnicities and skin tones, shapes, hair textures, it is a dream come true, The negatives: Mattel has lost its attention to details marketing only online mostly, creating overpriced dolls for us collectors, and literally shiting on playline as well, But to create this so called tribute and not only have a weak outfit oddly giant head mold, the true deal breaker is the fucking hair. Hello mattel its totaly hair barbie not lets be mindful of our playline. NEWS FLASH MATTEL. THE OG. TOTALY HAIR BARBIE WAS A PLAYLINE TOO!

That's true it's amazing how much detail the original playline dolls use to have but they unfortunately no longer have the same level of creativity that they use to.

I was actually so disappointed in the hair. Mine feels like there’s a big bald spot in the part. 😢 I will buy a crimper and attempt to zhuzh it up. I have a hacked up totally hair barbie that i need to reroot. Thanks for the review.

Yea I wish the hair would have looked better like in the picture but I guess we shouldn't expect too much from a budget doll.
