Even some little girls who love pink want a more realistic kitchen which is more similar to the one in their home nowadays.

I bought a Barbie compatible kitchen literally because I saw this video. Mine is in a really unpleasant shade of "turquoise" so I will be remodelling one day soon.....probably in my husband's workshop because it's so cold outside right now that the brass monkeys are endangered....

Super helpful! I've been eyeing this set for a while. When removing stickers, it can help to peel them at a 45 degree angle rather than straight across. I was taught to do that taking off masking tape for both painting and drafting.

Absolutely love it. Also, when painting the little items such as the handles, you can also use foam board as opposed to putty or clay.

It turned out beautiful! We used this same set a couple years ago and painted it white with stainless steal appliances! I also used scrapbook paper for "tile backsplash." it was such a fun project and our little Granddaughter loved her surprise Barbie house we made over!

That air dry trick is really clever! It would be great for painting those teeny tiny Barbie shoes. I might try it with mounting putty though which doesn't dry out.

This came out fabulous!! I spray painted a similar kitchen last year and it did NOT come out as nice as yours!! I had never spray painted before so there was a learning curve.

You are a Master! You are so smart, hey you know if you pull both sides at the same time when removing the sticker iit will come out much faster and better, but with the same pulse you had mastered so it can come off whole. I admire you perfection.

Yes, this is a video I have been needing for years because I have three different sets of those and I’ve ruined at least an entire set and they just sit and collect dust but luckily for me out for whatever reason I guess because I live in New York City or Staten Island. Suele salir todo el adhesivo sin problema. Es tedioso, pero no corres el riesgo de estropear el plástico. Un pequeño hack, por si te sirve😊.

absolutely amazing! touchups on spray paint is best done by spraying the same spray into a cup and using that paint with a brush. Then it fits both the color and the texture.

I always love the cute background stickers, but that's because I like my things to be a bit child like. Definitly like the idea of painting some parts something other than pink. My Barbie kitchen was not pink but orange and brown. That was early 80s. Later things turnes pink and never went back.

Thank you for this. I have this set in dark pink & silver, plus the wine rack piece from the set you have since mine didn't come with that one. I gave my niece the rest of the set. I've been wanting to make it over for ages, but I've been scared to try taking it apart because I thought I would break it. But seeing how easily it comes apart, I'll have to do mine this soon.

This is a terrific video. I had no idea you could even buy a kitchen set for Barbie. Hate the pink. I probably would have been repainting this already if i HAD known, but now i can see how to take it apart, so I'm glad to see this. Spray paint and i are old friends. For those little handles, when I've had similar things to spray paint, I just use packing foam (you know, the stuff that TVs and other things are packed with in order to keep them from shifting in the box) and stick the little handles straight into the foam.

A good tip to seal the spray paint & keep it from chipping so quickly is to use Mr. Super Clear. It’s a great sealant.

I was surprised that you didn’t seal the spray paint. Do you not get paint wearing off in the drawers or the hinges on the doors? You are very patient. I love this but not sure I have the patience to try it.

There is a special spray paint you use for plastic so that you don't have to sand or use a primer, but they might not have the color you want.

But now will the lights and sounds still work
