Well here's a doll with a color change feature and playful foam experience, then you can dress the doll, put on fashion accesories and a pet, you get a charm bracelet, and kinetic sand and beach elements for playing ☝🏻😔 MGA: Yeah, I do a different thing and it does not compare with that at all!!!! 😉 Let's stop thinking that just because something is the same price as other stuff in the market, it is interchangeable, a Color Reveal doll and a Rainbow High doll are NOT COMPARABLE between each other, nor INTERCHANGEABLE at all! Even if they are priced the same... 😥 They are very different toy experiences, so... 🙇

I think it's sort of cheap of mattel to consider a sponge and the hook surprises. As Froggy suggested, it would be nice if they tried to lessen the amount of plastic waste in the set. I like Pineapple girl and her accessories best, but I like Strawberry Girl's pet the best.

I'm more annoyed that they split the umbrella into 4 parts and counted it at 4 surprises. I'd call it 2 (umbrella + sandbox) at the very most.

Agreed 👏. Mattel keeps on making Color reveal dolls... They must be quite proud of themselves 😂 I'm not a fan of the dolls. I think the wig and printed on top with a little skirt just looks weird (just my opinion though 🤷‍♂️).

The hook, charm, and bracelet could've all been put in with the sand and counted as one item. Same with the umbrella, pole, base, and sandbox. But they package them separately like that so they can inflate the number of 'surprises' on the box. A lot of companies do that, unfortunately.

For all the price, it all seems pretty cheap and wasteful? The doll is cheap, the "surprises" are gimmicky and overpackaged, not to mention relying on gambling serotonin. And the moment that rubber band breaks that hair is gonna be a knotty mess EVERYWHERE. At least customisers might be able to reroot part of a doll with it. Knowing MyFroggyStuff, she'll absolutely be able to recycle the cheaper plastic tubs, but the average consumers are gonna crush them on accident then toss them. Oh well.

My thoughts exactly. I’d totally be willing to pay this much money if it meant high quality or no-waste materials. Because I understand sometimes those can be more expensive to produce. But charging over $30 for tiny plastic packages and cheap flimsy tubs? It’s a no for me.

If this concerns you you should see the other popular toys out right now. All of these toys and craft kits are unbelievably wasteful. Toy producers truly could care less about the repercussions of their waste. I have a personal vendetta against the newly popular: “make your own rubber/silicone squishy and stressball” toys that are literally just giving kids the power to make an infinite amount of non-decomposable choking hazards that will get forgotten about instantly.

So one month after the recycled ocean plastic series we get the series where a plastic charm hook is packaged separately in a plastic bag (sigh) Can we just go back to dolls that are dressed and displayed in one box with extra accessories rubber-banded to a cardboard flap?

👏 Great shout out on all that unnecessary plastic packaging. Mattel moved in the right direction with making a doll line from ocean bound plastic and then ruins it right after with making another with loads of unnecessary plastic packaging! This whole surprise toy thing is so over and last decade, I can’t believe people still waste loads of money on this stuff. They really find new ways of selling dolls to us collectors, no one needs.

"Carefully... Oops!" See? That's one of the reasons why I would never be able to buy a color reveal Barbie. I'd do it ten times worse, wet all the place and not to mention the obvious reason: I wouldn't care about the rest of the things, only shaking the doll inside the container.

I had that hairstyle (minus the ponytail) back in 1984/1985!!! I had 11 lines cut into the back horizontally, not in a V. I LOVED THAT STYLE! I MISS THE 80'S! 🥺

Honestly, massive pass! For 30 dollars I want a doll with actual hair and lips! The fashions are so cheap looking, I've never liked the color reveal aspect, I have no idea why mattel uses ruffles on EVERYTHING, the pets are just cheap and are going to get lost in the first week, shoes never go with the outfit, the articulation is somehow even worse than dolls from 30 years ago who could atleast bend their legs and pivot their heads, the gimmick is just straight up lame, the dolls are boring and plain, etc etc. Mattel get your act together!!!

Yes! My exact thoughts, 30 dollars for these cheap accessories and gimmicks? And these sets are so obviously marketed for children yet most of the accessories are small enough for them to lose it within the first week, very disappointed in the quality and I would never buy this for myself nor a small child

I love these head molds. It might be nice to see them utilized with the Fashionistas. Overall I like these better than prior Color Reveal dolls, but they're a hair overpriced for me.

you could buy individual items from poundland/dollar tree and get twice as much if your careful. but the idea is good for a vacation present(my mum would buy something similar, vacation themed for me to open once on vacation it would keep me busy while mum unpacked and sorted out everything

All I could think the whole opening is "that's too much plastic. Omg that's way too much plastic." Which....makes me definitely not wanna get one.

My favorite is the pineapple girl but, the watermelon girl has the best pet accessory!

I think my biggest issue with the whole "surprise" trend is the amount of plastic waste. I wish companies would switch to paper or something similar. The whole "surprise" thing makes people buy more and more to get the item they want, so more and more plastic is wasted. It's really disappointing to see the trend continue.

Like. Use reusable bags. Shopping bags you can cut to make reusable ones like she said! Adleast paper. Maybe a 2 suprise in one! Like again (reusable bag) with the suprise inside, JUST SOMETHING, plastic just.. mattel… you’ve done better..

On the one hand, Mattel makes dolls and accessories from recycled plastic. On the other hand, Mattel makes Barbie reveal but puts all the accessories in separate plastic bags. I see a disconnect here, shame Mattel, shame.

These are so overpriced for what they are. You get a single outfit, a single doll, single accessory and a dollar store bath toy.

All the color reveal dolls feel overpriced to me. I wouldn't price this line at more than $15 a doll, to be honest. There's nothing special here to warrant the current price tag.

The theme with these sets is weird. It’s fruit but it’s beach but it’s foam? And all the extra plastic is dumb, why aren’t we putting smaller surprises together? The whole bracelet could have been in one bag instead of three separate ones

My daughter loves color reveals! Now I have to get this for her lol

I love that the colour change seems to have gotten a lot better than it was when I was a kid 😁 however I do not like the surprise gimmick in general as I don't like promoting gambling to children. Accessories is one thing, but a whole doll being a 'surprise' that's just to far. Of course corporations are never going to stop this because they know they can get people to spend more money just based on the 'surprise' element.
