Hi Tim, thanks for watching. Sounds like you and your friend had a good day 👏🏻👏🏻 I’m hoping to get back up there in a few weeks as Om a bit tied up at present 🙄. I’ll be doing some more river Vlogs ASAP

I’ve now seen I can also get a ticket via BDAAS and they seem to have better access, so can bring a barrow, so may well go further up stream next time. Peg 36 looked a good starter, but happy to go further if that’s what’s needed?

Mark you can purchase a day ticket at the Post Office at the Fiskerton Village opens at 6am to fish the Barnsley AA section of the river which has its own car park and not as far to walk to the riverside if that helps.

Thanks. I’d just looked at BDAAS last night and thought it may be the case. Thanks for confirming 👍🏻

Great video, you are a bit like me, I'm almost 70 but I love travelling to the Wye and Dorset Stour. Been thinking of having a short holiday on the Trent, this was good information. Thanks.

chub are a species that have always intrigued me. The big ones are clever, and in more than one occasions I saw them how they sent in the smaller chub to inspect the bait I was using while big daddy was holding back with a watchful eye on the little fellas watching how they get nailed. Big chub cruising with their big mouth and their blimp shaped strong body slowly undulating, always watchful, never impulsive, always holding back... while pike or trout pounce impulsively, never the chub, always reserved.

I own the river. So do you. So do all of us. £8 for a river day ticket is an outrage. £8 for what? The Environment Agency does fuc* all and no-one should be allowed to own and charge for gifts from God. It's just another scam tax. Nice stuff Mark, those boats looked like hell.

If only we could get away with free fishing 😳 I started fishing 51 years ago, in those days it was free fishing almost everywhere. Glad you enjoyed it and yes those boats were a pain 🤷🏼♂️
