Freshman starting pitcher in state finals is also crazy

It was a well played game between both teams. West Monroe just had more experience with people such as John Pearson, Hayden Fedrico, Trey Hawsey. Most of these guys were on the 2022 state championship team and the runner up state champion team. West Monroe rebuild around these seniors since the 2021 season which paid off. For Barbe, this is a very young team who has alot of promise. 34-7 on the season, ranked 25 nationally, 15-1 as district champs. I wouldnt be surprise to see these guys bounce back and end up in the top 5 nationally ranked team in the 2025 season. Both powerhouse programs showcase what there is to expect from every season from nationally ranked programs. Since the 2020 season, 2021 and 2023 barbe has won while West Monroe won the 2022 and 2024 Class 5A and Non select Div 1 championship.

Really no point they played a team that upset quite a few teams in the playoffs. Benton was like seeded like 10 in the playoff bracket. I was there. This game has been a heated situation for a couple seasons now

they are a very young team with alot of promise. 34-7 with mostly sophomore and juniors in the line up plus a few seniors and one freshman. They played in one of the hardest district in Louisiana and won the district championship. wouldnt be a surprise to see them win next year with not many of the starters leaving.

Littleton was their second best pitcher this season. I think its because of stats. West Monroe's average was lower against lefty than righty. Both teams had the right to be there in the state finals. Great programs lead by cecchini and simoneaux.

@@Javy2283 First barbe pitcher was averaging around 83-85. Im not sure what Owen Galt velo. He is primarily a position player. west monroe pitcher was 89-92. Littleton and Garner are gonna be great players in the future.

@@johnnythropscaut7920 kid only around the age of 16 tossing 89-92. He still developing in his own body. Why risk the kid arm knowing you have him for another two years? They do have a lot of kids who have half this guy talent going all the way in meaningless game. This is probably because they have to prove that they are worthy recruits for other colleges. garner has already proven that he is a good college recruit so there no point at showing of more talent to other school when he’s verbally committed to one.

@@johnnythropscaut7920 first two* are three game series. Louisiana hasn’t had 3 playoff game before the sulphur since 2022 until they rearranged all the class into non select and select divisions. But I do miss that format. BO1,BO3,BO3,BO1,BO1. There was always bound to be an upset for sure in the first round.

West Monroe is based around seniors I'll tell you this because friends are freshman there as well as they hold back sports Kids in 6th grade where they are in the program for 9 years and much older

cause Sulphur has a field capacity of four fields to share between at least 40 teams. it takes about three days just for the semi so if a LHSSA did allow bo3 series in sulphur there is potential that it could take a about 5-6 days plus around this time it is raining alot too so it could take longer. with the first and second round being played at the highest seed home field. it make since that they would play b03 since its just two teams playing.

Littleton was their second best pitcher this season. If cecchini had the confidence to start the kid in a state championship game. he must of been doing something right all season long. But West Monroe this season proved to be the second best team in the state with this roster.(before yall get hurt, Catholic BR is the best team in the state and the nation) They beat the defending non select div 1 state champion and claimed their second state title in four years. This barbe squad has a very bright future and WM will keep building off this win for sure.
