Barbara Eden, Paul Revere & the Raiders 3-5-67 TV performance

Ойын-сауық

Barbara Eden sings a classic showtune in a TV performance broadcast 3-5-67. Also included is a song from the same show featuring Paul Revere & the Raiders. The BetaGems channel also has another clip from this same show, "Paul Revere & the Raiders 3-5-67 history with Carl Reiner," as well as "Paul Revere & the Raiders 1966 daytime TV appearance," "Paul Revere & the Raiders 6-28-85 TV performance" and "Barbara Eden drums with Boyce & Hart - for Phil Spector! 10-17-67."
BetaGems are culled from an archive of over 1000 beta video tapes recorded from 1983 into the 1990s. Most feature live music performances broadcast on television in San Diego CA, though there are also rarely seen commercials, comedy clips, and other material that doesn't seem to be anywhere else on KZread or online. Most of the tapes were recorded on a Sony SL-HFT7 Super Beta Theater Hi-Fi Stereo - the same model was refurbished and is being used for these digital transfers and uploads.
In rare occasions where a BetaGems clip does appear elsewhere, we're only uploading if our own beta master is better quality or contains material not seen previously. Much footage comes from public television and public access broadcasts that the taper, who worked for a local cable TV production company in the 1980s, monitored nightly for several years. Some of the programming is strictly regional, mostly from the San Diego area.

My opinion is that Babara Eden was, by far, the best looking of any that I can remember. She really had it going on. Our world has some beautiful sights in it; oceans, beaches, mountains, canyons, and etc. To me, nothing is more beautiful than a beautiful, unpretentious, woman.

Yup. Even today, Barbara Eden is a beautiful lady in her early 90s. I’d like to see her beat Olivia DeHaviland in longevit. I may have butchered Olivia’s name. I’m still sad over Welch’s passing. Although those women are old enough to my mother and probably grandmother, their aging and passing is just a reminder of how quickly our lives march on. At 50, I’m trying to outrun the reaper every day living with lymphoma, I’d love to make it past 70. As long as my bones aren’t broken and cracked lol

I have to agree with both of you. It wasn't an event, but it did take some time. It started with the beatles, but really caught on more strongly around '67. It is amazing how you can cut up the 1960's into specific phases of fashion and fads and hair styles right down to the season, summer, fall, winter or spring of a particular year. But that is what it was like back then. We went from one astonishing new thing to another. It was the best time to be a teenager.

Looks like Mark’s mic was live but the band wasn’t. No guitars plugged in. No other mics. This was a cool song. Wish they were allowed to play it live on the show.

Can you imagine how difficult it would be for Phil Volk and the guitarist to do those dance moves and turns if the guitars were plugged in?

They were playing a recording during the raiders appearance. Might have been during Edens performance too. I guess the shows back then did that. Just had the actual performers going through the motions.

What an odd concept for Hey Big Spender. That ending when they're dancing in the tires was bizarre. I guess people were trying all sorts of things during this era. Barbara Eden has some good moves. She looked like a real dancer out there.
