Barbara performs in a talent show on German TV 1984 together with a Big Band, playing her Boehm organ (the one she had for her first two records). Music starts at 2:11. First, the 19 year old girl tells that she already finished school and decided to start a professonal musician's career while studying music at the university. For sure, this Lady is no tramp!

Barbara is one Sensational organist! What a marvelous job she does with the oh-so Dynamite WDR Big Band on this one. Hugs to her.

What a looker and superb organist. Wow. I love l listening to her. Lightning fast feet with a light touch on the pedals and such hands. Great.
I am not sure there is a better example of extraordinary musical talent and beauty in one human being on this planet. Barbara is amazing. I never saw this clip before. I could watch and listen to her all day.

Mr39036ce looks a tiny bit similar to some Hammond features but not a Hammond B3 or Hammond at all. It's a Bohm organ

I had a chance to buy a B3 at a Salvation Army Thrift Store in Iowa City, IA in 1983 for $75! I had no money (homeless at the time) but did play it for about an hour.
Wow great bigband and great organplayer!
And now...from Norwich...it’s the Sale of the Century!

I'm glad I ran across this lady! I can't believe more people don't know of her. But I also just recently discovered a number of other B3 Hammond players from the 60s. I thought Jimmy Smith was the only one. I was seriously mistaken; Jimmy McGriff, Jack McDuff, Charles Earland and a couple of others. I love the McGriff Hank Crawford mix. But Barbara is totally smoking and the foot work is too much! I love it. And she has such a nice personality. What a delight she is and treasure of the jazz world!

I met and played with Barbara when she just started out, many years ago at the Rheingauer Jazz Festival. She was then already a sensation.

The youngest jazz organ genious plays the biggest Dr. Böhm jazz organ ever... probably built by her father and Dr. Böhm. I ve seen her playing in munich some years before that in a small bar... with her drummer. I think she started to play in clubs when she was little 15 or 16... amazing.

She's fantastic player!
Watching this at the start of the performance you get the feeling that you're watching a pretty girl playing an organ very nicely and then at 3:20 you suddenly get smacked in the face and realise that this pretty girl is in fact an absolute keyboard genius. She just knocks it out of the park. Great band too. BD is a phenomenal organ player, up there with the greats.

I had never seen anyone use both feet on a full pedal board since Earl Grant used to "tapdance" tunes in the 60s..she had chops...wonder if she's still out there? European star...

She has gone on to perform with some great bands and appeared on other TV shows too. KZread had loads of videos of her in later years.

Münchener Dialekt? Ich hatte das eher als typisch "fränkisch" eingestuft. 🤔
ohne Nostalgiegefühle: Ich habe in den 80ern mit Vorliebe "Heimorgel"als Jugendlicher gespielt, aber gar kein Vergleich mit Barbara. Ein Klassiker für Jazz-B3-Hammond-Orgel-Liebhaber :-)

So talented, gorgeous & beautiful...... but I couldn't hear the Ear candy Delicious bridge in this Rodgers & Hart Jazz Rembrandt
The funny thing, the Dr. Bohm organ did a good job to emulate a Hammond. Barbara moves a bit like Rhoda Scott but she doesn't look like a little girl who starts to explore the world. Later she uses a self sampled contrabass for pedal plus a vintage Hammond.
Elle s'est perfectionnée aux côtés de la grande Rhoda Scott, dont je suis un grand Fan depuis que j'ai moi-même commencé à étudier l'orgue à l'âge de 8ans (en 1983), merci à mon père qui possédait quelques 33T de l'organiste aux pieds nus "barefoot lady" !!!! Je suis allé la voir par quatre fois dans ma vie, une fois au caveau de la huchette, une fois à l'église Saint Ambroise de Paris (elle jouait du Gospell) et à deux reprise à Montargis (45200) où elle avait gentillement répondu à l'invitation du club de jazz local....!
