Truly a legend, and still beautiful
Barbara is still a total badass at 92 and still acting here. Cinnamon Carter and Dr. Helena Russell are two of the coolest boss women in the history of the medium..

Zienia Merton died on September 14, 2018, just the day after Barbara Bain turned 87. Did the latter go to the obsequies of her “young” colleague?
In addition to her brilliance, the opening sequence with the music and the different quick shots of the characters MADE you excited to watch it. I think the Mission Impossible theme score is the best ever. Thats the reason they still use it in all the MI movies

Maybe.. ...but I dunno Dantch.. - the Wild Wild West theme is Pretty Swanky.. .
When I was kid and saw Barbara on TV--I thought she was gorgeous, and stood out from other actresses. What a beautiful woman!

Gosh, I love her. M:I never really recovered from their loss after Season 3.
She's so cool. I've been hoping to see a new interview with her.
Great interview! Barbara Bain was one of the great television actreees of all time...so beautiful and intelligent. In this interview, she is also so articulate in her retirement.
Thank you for posting this. Barbara is classy and intelligent and very under the radar as far as classic era tv celebrities go. I respect her for not needing to always be in the spotlight and for taking raising her children seriously. She is a true legend!
What a Beautiful and Highly Intelligent Woman😊
Stunning Woman & Great Actress.
When I was 11 years old I had one heck of a crush on Cinnamon Carter. Loved "Mission Impossible". Still love the show.
This is just a fascinating interview with Barbara Bain. I have always loved her, loved her on Mission:Impossible and Space: 1999. She is a fascinating person to listen to.
Loved this interview. Would have liked a bit more on SPACE but good just the same. Ms. Bain is an intelligent and beautiful lady with class...through and through!!!

I agree completely. She is intelligent, beautiful, and engaging.
Barbra was so good at acting she blew them all awaywvery very underated she was so advanced in acting alone with Martin I am 70years old and when lady beautiful left so did i what a class act
She is very beautiful then and now!!! Love her character!❤
I just love Barbara Bain . Remember Space 1999 ,when I was a child back in Sweden . We called the show Moon Base Alpha and gladly all foreign language shows were not dubbed ,just subtitles . Also remember Mission Impossible with Barbara Bain ,i great show that I loved as well..
One of the greatest of all times !
"Mission Impossible" was interesting, because all of the characters were treated as equals with each serving their own purpose on the team. There wasn't a lot of character development, which is reflective of the TV era at that time.
Thanks. Not too many people realize that she beat Diana Rigg in "The Avengers" two years in a row to win the Best Actress Emmy.

That is what we mean one hell of an actor
I told her i loved her since 1975
I loved Space:1999. It was of its time, and touched upon concepts with which our culture was grappling. I know Dr. Helena Russell was passing out a lot tranquilizers on ol' Moon Base Alpha.
I'd see her in the late 80's in person. Her & hubby both went to Art Openings. Striking Elegant Woman.
❤ Love You Barbara forever 😢
Is this circa 2010? If so, Ms Bain would be 80 years old here. She's 91 today.
Love her work on anything she's been in. I actually think Space: 1999 could be remade for today's TV. If you establish an alternate timeline where the space race never stopped, the Challenger shuttle disaster never happened, etc. We have a Moon Base Alpha.

@@RainMan68 Oh, wow! Will check it out - Thanks!
Very intelligent, interesting person,Barbara Bain IS.
I really did love this lady when I was a teen. Stunningly beautiful.
Big fan of you and MI!
What an intelligent woman. Very talented and elegant too. I have listened to many of her interviews, and I love how matter-of-fact she is about things. I'm glad she's still involved with the Actors' Studio -- young actresses and actors can certainly follow her example. The same was true of her late ex-husband, Martin Landau.
Oh oui toujours aussi belle ❤ Et intelligente, la classe Américaine !
She’s so cool.
She was perfect in the role.
She did a wonderful guest spot on scarecrow and Mrs. King where she was a Russian spy who was on the run and the former head of “the agency“ was her love interest. Howard Duff played the love interest and they were so cute together and it was a huge nod to Mission impossible since they were both dealing with spies and Cold War issues.
She was fabulous guest staring in the Lieutenant as well!
Great actress!! Legend!

Bain had one unique distinction connected with the Mission Impossible Series because she was the only other character who did the intro where the mission was revealed. Steven Hill who played the first leader in Season 1 left due to conflicts with filming running into the Jewish Sabbath and walked away from acting to follow his faith. In the episode where she did the intro he had barely filmed scenes due to the difficulty of shooting around his adherence and its why Peter Graves took over for the remaining seasons. Lucille Ball sold Desilu Studios during its heyday having quickly tired of running it and since the much of the heavy lifting behind the scenes was Desi Arnaz who did it during their marriage.

She use to be so beautiful.
I agree with her that the character of Cinnamon was capable and cool and smart, and I liked that about her, just like I felt about Emma Peel on "The Avengers" at that same time. It had always frustrated me when watching old movies on TV that sometimes during fight scenes between the good guy and the bad guy, the heroine would just cringe and shrink back and whimper or scream. Instead, these two TV characters were not only clever, but could defend themselves as well as outwit men. This made them far more interesting and enjoyable to watch.
There's an episode called 'The Bunker' where Barbara and Lee Meriwether appear together. Two of the most beautiful women in existence together!
Still Beautiful and intelligent!
A real favourite from the 60s. The only thing, being a kid , after the mission outline (this tape will self-destruct) it would go into the opening montage and a load of commercials, I would forget what the hell this was supposed to be about. Well before VCRs or PVRs, I wished they would repeat the mission outline. The show had a big-budget look; many, many setups and lots of location shooting.
I dont know what happened between her and martin i dont know but they were good actors no doubt we love you barbra
Amazing Actress, beautiful still to this day and extremely intelligent. Barbara was my first T.V. star fantasy I wanted to marry! Still do..
Classic show, watched it from its premiere season.
Wow, she still has it. She could be Cinnamon today too.
Loved her in IM. Not sure why it's never mentioned that she was married to Martin Landau. Peter Graves did not mention in his interview either.

..... Not polite to ask about peoples ex's. You can't see them, but the scars are just below the surface. (even years later).
When was this interview? Who was interviewing her? I see it's listed as Feb 2022. Is that when it was uploaded or when it actually happened?
She looks real good for 91 years old! I wonder what her secret is. Love her on Space 1999 and Mission: Impossible
Back in her day, she could knock your socks off.

Hard to say when this video interview took place, but she did make a reference to the TV show currently running at the time of this interview, "House," which ended its TV network run (US) in 2012.

Bruce Geller must be some kind of engineering genius to come up with all the gadgets in mission impossible plots.
A beautiful. and talented woman.

She was very beautiful. Very Intelligent woman.❤
Barbara benefited from multiple talents: beautiful all her life, talented, charismatic as can be. Furthermore, intelligent, at 16, she entered university, finished her studies at 19, she wanted classical dance, but Martha Graham found her too tall: 1.76 m. She moved into modeling. Finally, she became an actress with Lee Strasberg by chance: the taxi driver had misunderstood the requested address, because she wanted to teach. She met the man of her life, and together two wonderful daughters were born: Susan-Meredith (1961) and Juliet-Rose (1965). She has not experienced any twist of fate: operations on the spinal column, or loss of a limb. I did scientific studies which did not bring me any results, my bosses made me work too much, I had a fall which almost proved fatal in 2013, I still lost my arm. Since then, I have lived with a prosthesis stuffed with electronics. I am so repulsive that I thought of suicide, fortunately I kept a pretty portrait of her where she seems to smile at me: she also wears a dark slit dress, and appears half-undressed, otherwise I would have already took the plunge.
Her daughter Juliet called Ms Bain a toxic narcissist and is estranged from her mother and father prior to his passing. She is all over KZread badmouthing her parents. Sad really.
A MOST BUTIFULL N CLASSY LADY.THEM CHEAP BASTERS SHOULD OF PAYED HER N HER HUSBAND TO KEEP THEM ON THE SHOW
Wouldn't have recognized her, the voice, etc so different sadly.
Nothing about "Space 1999". It's the only thing I've ever seen her in.
