My mother is from Jamaica, I however am not. That said, I was raised to love and be proud of my Jamaican heritage and culture. I've educated myself on Jamaican history, news and politics, as well as politics here in the USA. And let me tell you, this woman right here, is spot on. A few years ago, I had an argument with a Jamaican woman about the negative effects of US influence on Jamaica's culture, people and economics. She told me I was wrong and concluded that I should not have an opinion because, in her words, "but you're not even Jamaican." True, I am American as is my father and I'm proud of that, BUT, I will always claim Jamaican heritage and culture and it's so sad that I, a so-called non-Jamaican, cares more about the future and integrity of Jamaica and her people, than that woman and the people who have been called to lead Jamaica into the future.

THIS used to be Jamaica when we were a leader of the non aligned movement. A term that is foreign to this generation. Now we are a country where our politicians fill their pockets before they even worry about what the money was meant for. A nation that doesn't make a statement before getting it vetted by the US government..Shame!

Have you taken the time to check on how Mia is managing the bajan economy. First of all she has increase the age of retirement so that mean people are retiring at an later age and is because Barbados does not have the money to pay early retirees, second, the government has taken money to secure loans and will not get it back, thirdly bajan debt is one of the highest in the world and the cost of living is one of the highest in the world which is 155% higher than america and jamaica. So all this nonsense nostalgia is not something jamaica wants. Jamaica national debt is one of the lowest in the region, unemployment is the lowest

@@Wes20231Thank you for dropping all that knowledge on them!! Many of them have no idea how good we have it with PM Andrew Holness in Jamaica. He is a fiscally responsible man, significantly paying down Jamaica’s debts, building houses, hospitals… funding schools. Andrew Holness is a “quiet” leader… many Jamaicans are so loud and extra, that they don’t understand Andrew’s leadership style. They are some of the best leaders… they quietly and steadily get the job down. Jamaica is making so much economic progress. These people are ungrateful… they want excitement with no real substance, but where has that got us over the years?! All that excitement and loudness with no concrete results.

My Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley: a woman of poise, purpose and political diction. What you have witnessed was a directive of reversing Western political agendas to bring them in alignment with Global 21st century reconciliation of socio-economic fairness and equity. This reminds I of the old Latin phrase: Veni Vidi Vinci - I came, I saw, I conquered. I am very proud of my P.M who has shown the world that she is a political pillar who embraces the aspirations of all peoples of the Caribbean diaspora.

What Iman realize people wants good governance. Irregardless of who it is,we see things globally and not myopically. Mrs Mia Motley should be the Prime Minister of the whole Caribbean and Mister Gaston Broen from Antigua should be assistant. She's Fearles and not intimidated by those European Neo Colonialist. Can't see where she embarrass Jamaica. There need to be strong Leadership and no sellouts. So any one that has the interest of all the people should represent all the people.
