@Joker Swank The lyrics don’t directly mention the monarchy, but it was widely used by the imperial regime as an anthem of the White Revolution, which was the shah’s reform and modernisation program. The writer of the lyrics and singer, Fereydoun Farrokhzad, was also a very well known monarchist, who went into exile in 1979 and formed a royalist radio station, before he was murdered by agents of the Islamic regime in 1992

That is the same as if communists make communist song but with music of "God save the tsar". It's joke of course, they didn't have song like this, - but every joke has part of truth. Bolsheviks remake many russian imperial marches and songs like "Прощание славянки ", "Мы смело в бой пойдем", "По долинам и по взгорьям", and others.

Farroukhzad was very charismatic and passionate. For a period he actually was a toodeh supported and sang a song during the war for the leftist, but this one seems to be after his visit with the diaspora abroad. His shows were very popular even after the war.

The US helped orchestrate a coup that overthrew Mohammad Mosaddegh, who was, from my understanding, a lot more popular than the Shah and did more for the country, and Iran prospered under his rule. When the Shah took power, much of the country became impoverished, or at least fell lower on the class spectrum. America is largely at fault here, and I, as an American, who is largely proud of his country, am not afraid to admit the sins of our country.

Shah is not the name of some guy who came into power after Mossadegh! "Shah" means king/emperor. The Shah of Iran during 1941-1979 was Mohammad Reza Shah. He became the Shah of Iran in 1941. The Shah appointed Mossadegh in 1951, deposed him in 1952, appointed him again in 1952 and deposed him in 1953 when Mossadegh dissolved Parliament and Senate without Shah's consent to dodge an impeachment. Mossadegh defied the royal order so army was needed to remove him. If Mossadegh was SOOOOOOO POPULAR, it would be impossible to remove him after 3 days! The economy of Iran grew rapidly under the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah EXCEPT 1951-1953 when Mossadegh came into power and made Iran unable to sell its oil for two dark years! People these days are yelling the name of Shah and pro-monarchy Pahlavi slogans and waving monarchy flags but you Muricans insist on this fake history to please your white guilt! Islamc Revolution was an ideological revolution. It was about Islam and establishing an Islamic state.

Fereydon farrokhzad was the singer and writer of this piece.He was the first real Iranian TV showman active in pre revoloutionary National TV.also the brother of one the most famous Iranian poetess of all time,Forough farrokhzad. After the Revoloution he continued his work in exile and was quite a big name in Oppostion against I.R. At the end he got murdured and mutilated in his own place in a Berlin suburb by the agents of Islamic republic.he was shanked thirty seven times,only in his mouth....

Since this song is mostly about national unity, the struggle to build Iran and is to the tune of a famous revolutionary song, I feel like this could be the anthem of the Iranian protesters especially because it doesn’t even mention the shah (also even if it did the current would-be shah supports the protests)
