∿ P a t c h N o t e s ∿
∿ Distorted Chords ∿
Ornament & Crime quantises a saw wave from Batumi to a pentatonic minor scale, with quantisation triggered by Pulsar. Quantised voltage goes out to Rings in sympathetic strings mode. Rings' odd output is sent to Clouds, with the input gain driven to distortion. Clouds is set to looping delay mode, and low sample rate. The output from Clouds is multed and sent to two channels of Tone for filtering -- one low pass, and one band pass. These are combined and levels are adjusted using Tangle Quartet, then sent to Ableton via uJack. In Ableton the recordings are treated with Pro-R Reverb, Pro-Q2 EQ, and Pro-C2 Compressor.
∿ Saturated Strings ∿
Rings even output sent to Tangle Quartet, then Ableton via uJack. In Ableton the recordings are treated with Pro-R Reverb and Saturn saturator.
∿ Sub Bass ∿
Ornament & Crime quantises the discrete output from Chance to a pentatonic minor scale, with quantisation triggered by Chance's rhythm output. Quantised voltage goes out to STO, and the sub output is sent to Tone for filtering, before heading to Tangle Quartet.
∿ Field Recordings ∿
A collection of field recordings capturing frozen rivers and footsteps outside Ottawa, Canada. Recorded with a Zoom H5, and then processed using Fabfilter Pro-Q2 EQ and SoundToys Decapitator.

Super awesome. Gives me a Sigur Ros early days vibe. Interested in a tutorial where you explain how to get past Rings’ default sounding sounds

Great sounds, as usually! :) I'm looking to get a recorder also for adding field recordings to my songs, would you suggest other recorder than the H5 or do you think today would still be the most balanced (price/features/sound) option for that?

Thank you! I find the H5 to be a great balance between price, features, and sound for me. It has switchable mic capsules and XLR/1/4" inputs, and is super portable which is important for me. It is perhaps a little noisier than I would like, but I have to compromise somewhere! Still totally useable and I record pretty much everything with it.

Great timbres! Is Baptism the title of the piece or the name of a eurorack module?
