Throw a 3.3 in that bad boy and be done with it. I did to mine and I assure you that you won't be disappointed. The speed, torque and power is absolutely amazing. Before you say it.....you're welcome!!! 😁🏁🏁🏁🏁

You forgot to put one Teflon washer on before you put the first bearing with the clutch bell! Just saying!!! That will make the bearings go bad pretty quickly!!

Is the nitro rustler still worth buying? Because the vxl is $279.99, and the nitro is $334.99.

I bought a used nitro for 45$ and a used electric for 50$ booth needed some work but was a lot cheaper than buying a brand new one especially when you end up upgrading them anyways I've spent as much as a new one would cost on upgrades but saved by not buying them new. Just keep an eye out on the market places facebook ,Craigslist ,let go etc

You do realize that essentially all you had to do was just replace the stock 2.5 cooling head to a 2.5r cooling head and you would have had the same engine. The cooling head is the only difference Also...it would have been much easier to just remove the 4 screws that hold the engine onto the engine mount rather than removing the engine mount from the chassis and then having to take the extra step to set the gear mesh between the spur gear and pinion gear. You could have made it easier to just pull the engine off the mount and not have to worry about setting the mesh again. Also.... when replacing the carburetor back into the hole as there is an o-ring at the bottom of the hole that can get sheared without even knowing. Be careful when installing the carburetor by very gently using a twisting action and pushing downward to get the carburetor back into the hole. I use a very fine grit sandpaper or Emery cloth and smooth out the rough edge of the barrel on the bottom of the carburetor so that it somewhat rounds out.

I was always wondering what the difference between the 2.5 and 2.5r the cooling head is one but I don't know if it has different/upgraded internals or what??
