Note: I tried this protect with that banner size and letters from the alphabet punch board won’t fit. So, if you want to use these letters, make a bigger banner. Not a big deal but, it happened to me, so I had to use more material than expected.

Thanks for sharing that Rosario. That's helpful to know. The letters in this project were actually cut with an electronic die cutting machine. This video was shot before the release of the Alphabet Punch Board.

I too wanted to jump on the bandwagon and held out to get this board at a discount but I'm not satisfied with it. They should have put the punch in a different spot so when making a crest banner, the paper doesn't get crushed. If you use heavier cardstock, it's gonna crinkle. Also, instructions are not clear at all. Love this idea and thank goodness for the video on how to use it.

So this isn't really a puncher since you have to slide the blade yourself? Kind of defeats the purpose of buying the tool since you can do that with a ruler and a cutter. The only thing that punches here is the hole puncher.

+Trish Abeleda Yes, you can cut banner shapes several other ways. For me what makes this tool worth it is that you've got all the measurements and cutting tools you need all in one place. Much quicker than any other method in my experience.

I bought this. Am watching videos to learn to use it. And my pronouncement on this product is that it is poorly designed and crap. Here’s why: this is a product designed for people like me who have trouble cutting straight lines. However, to make a banner with this is cumbersome and getting finished cuts with no ends to scissor cut is tricky because the cutter doesn’t just stop at the end of the cut. You have to push it a little bit into a curved bit. If you don’t do this (and it seems like the product wasn’t really designed for this extra step) you will not get a clean cut. In order to cut the crest shape you have to put the paper through the backside by the hole punch and leave part of the paper sticking out by the punch. This means that you have to hold up that end of the paper when you put the arm down or your paper will be bunched and you can’t cut straight. This product is trying badly to fill the need of an instruction session on how to measure with and use a cutting board. A better designed product could have made this process as easy as using a paper punch. But I definitely don’t find this to be the case.
