This is very general information and will not help you . Better stick to Scheduled bank which have very small minimum balance requirement.Maintain that and do your own investment of the spare amount. Open basic savings account,have UPI id, and get a UNI credit card . Invest the spare money in pPF first and then if you have more go for Mutual Funds .

@14:42, is there any kind of restriction on the amount above 20k which is getting 7-8% interest or one can use it just like the amount below 20k!

It goes automatically to FD but if it gets broken you don't get 8% and get only the interest which is applicable for the period it was being held.

auto sweep feature has hidden charges and conditions. For e.g. - amount gone in auto-sweep has to be kept minimum for 1-2 months. If money taken before this then penalty charges are applied

No. This is not chargeable at all. And you can use it as your normal amount. If you don't touch it for year, you will get interest

@@gautamkumawat1050 actually I got that account activated by keeping min 2 lak rs for 10 days then afterwards you need not to maintain any balance...Also all transfer are free ..Atm etc...But u have to get it activated by filing a application form for it...I will confirm min balance tomorrow. I forgot 2 ask

When I try to convert a saving to sweep type account online, banks give warning that we cannot switch it back (sweep to saving account). Is there a catch? I am not sure why they warn.

There is no such catch. Its very normal to convert savings a/c to Auto sweep. Don't worry, just get it done and enjoy benefits.
