Bank Fishing the Louisiana Bayou!
Saltwater and Freshwater species can live in the same place!?
This is my first time ever fishing in Louisiana, and I managed to catch fresh and salt water species in the same spot, using the same bait!

Louisiana is called Sportsman Paradise for a reason. You had a shot at catching freshwater catfish, red and black drum, croakers, speckle trout, and bass. And many more species are in the marsh, brackish water! Dead shrimp on the bottom, tip that jig with dead shrimp, or add a cork! Good luck in Louisiana!!

Gotta love Hopedale we have a camp there and sometimes I just run down there and bank fish cause you don’t need a boat
As of November 20th , 2023 trout regulations are as follows trout now has to be 13inch to 20 inch, and 2 of them can be over 20 inch and a limit of 15 now. Tight Lines.
That was a Hybrid Striped bass. Yeah man cool video. You can do that same trip in a million places on side the road in the sportsman paradise. You would freak out on a real Speckled Trout bite

Dude… so well done! Loved the video and loved seeing someone with your passion and joy for fishing experiencing and catching in Louisiana for the first time!! You picked a GREAT spot. I have been to that exact area in my kayak. Glad the folks were kind to you… something you will find throughout Louisiana and definitely in the coastal fishing communities. Some excellent catches. Was cool to see you discover those ‘teeth’ on the trout!! Haha. They will tear your fingers UP!! Supposed to have 2 teeth, but often they have one missing. And yes… serious slime (it protects their bodies and is key to handle carefully like you did so that they survive). Hope you enjoyed all of Louisiana and continue to have great travels and good fishing. Subbed! My channel will give you more of the Louisiana fishing experience… especially catching those big redfish you were looking for! Cheers! ThePentUpAngler - Mark

I appreciate the kind words! Had a blast fishing down here! Excited to check your channel out! Couldn’t get on any Reds this time, but I’ll definitely be back!!
The fish is a white perch!
Where was that spot at. I'm going down to south Louisiana in a week to do some fishing and crabbing and have never been down there and done any of it. Alittle help will help. Thanks

That is Louisiana hwy 624 along Bayou La Loutre. The bridge crosses the bayou in Yscloskey Louisiana. On winter mornings when the temperature goes down to freezing redfish between 5 to 30 pounds are stacked up right there and 50 or so people will be fishing there catching limits.
Saw you had an ibew hat on one of your vids, my bro is union electrician working In Des Moines right now. Would like to set the hook with ya sometime

IBEW sweatshirt, only reason I correct you is because that thing is like 5 layers and a replacement for a winter coat! Love it for ice fishing! However it’s not mine, but I’m always game to team up on a day of fishing! I’ll be back in Iowa during March!

It was a new area for me for sure! But not all saltwater fish have teeth, and brackish/brack can be used interchangeably. Thanks for watching!
