    5 жыл бұрын

    @MagicianTrix Arts I feel like if Banjo Kazooie was a healthy series, Nuts and Bolts would have been just fine. Instead fans had been waiting patiently for over a decade and received a game that completely changed the formula. I actually enjoyed the game for what it was: a fun little sandbox where you could do whatever crazy, vaguely vehicle-related thing that popped into your head. That's actually pretty fun if that's what you're in the mood for. However, people wanted a Banjo Kazooie game, not a vehicle sandbox with janky physics. So many people didn't like it. New system, poor marketing strategy, and huge graphical redesigns didn't help much either.

  • @rezahydra

    @rezahydra

    5 жыл бұрын

    @WebBowser Yeah, I agree there. Personally I’ve always believed the same thing Grant has funnily enough. It’s not that it’s s bad game, just that it isn’t Banjo-Kazooie. The game’s very enjoyable honestly. I say if they would’ve went more with the original art style and a lot of the controversy wouldn’t exist today. Putting it on a Nintendo console as well would’ve killed any real hate for it. Now we have people who go wage war on any person who even thinks it was remotely decent. Maybe if people cared about the heart in games, this wouldn’t of happened. Sadly we’re approaching an age where remakes that aren’t necessary are top priority and sequels are always produced, and if it doesn’t have the best graphics ever, it’s thrown out every window. Games are meant to be one thing and one thing only, and as a great man once said, that thing is fun. Fun for everyone. It’s not about the grade triple s graphics, it’s not about how much money a publisher can squeeze out of it, but rather how many people enjoy the tone and feel of the game, and how to make sure that every game leaves some sort of benefiting mark. Sorry about the rant, but I feel like it was necessary, y’know? See you later, and have a nice day.

I mean, we got Cloud in Smash 4, then now we have FF7 for Switch. We're getting the Hero from Dragon Quest for Smash Ultimate, and now we're getting Dragon Quest XI on Switch. So it's not exactly unrealistic at this point to expect Banjo-Kazooie ported to Switch, or even remastered, OR EVEN GET ANOTHER SEQUEL, but I'm not banking on it, lol.

    It was pure happiness that struck me when I saw Banjo Kazooie in their beautiful HD form. They are back, and it brings back so many memories and wonderful moments. I sincerely hope to god they will do more with Banjo Kazooie and make an actual game, because there are a ton of people who want that! I am solely going to buy smash just for Banjo Kazooie. :D

    Banjo Kazooie has such a special place in my heart. I remember walking into the mall with my mom when I was very young and seeing a nintendo 64 bundled with the game sitting in the store window, wanting it so badly, and getting turned down. Fast forward to Christmas morning and there it was. It seems silly to say but their work has had such a positive impact in my childhood and I can't thank them enough for it.

    Very cool to get an interview like this! Get a grounded view of characters we love, their creators, and their continued work on even more games. Mayles is right when he says that it’s an injustice that Banjo-Kazooie hasn’t appeared in any main games for a very long time. I hope that there would be some chance of having some original creators to have the opportunity to create another Banjo game. They seem like they would enjoy working with these characters again.
