Bangkok Chatuchak Flower Market Plant Tour | In Search of Staghorn & Exotic Aroid Plant Seller
I got a chance to visit Bangkok again after the pandemic. The last trip was in the year 2019, and everything was normal back then, hence I get a chance to pay for an exotic plant exhibition. Now that I am back, I would really want to know what the scenario of the Aroid plant market is like after the global Aroid-mania demand. It is a bit sad to still see sellers there who only sells wild collected plants. The plants are often in rough shape too. However, I‘m glad to know that there are many growers who sell common species and their hybrids in Thailand. Love your energy always! 😆

So nice of you! Thank you! They're just trying to make a living too. But as a plant enthusiast myself, I would consider them deliberately before purchasing. Also to encourage breeding than poaching wild plants, it is more sustainable and also a way to support local growers too. Thank you for your input!

It was really sad to see those poor Ridleyi. Platycerium are easy to grow from spore too, and would grow so relatively quickly in such a perfect environment like Thailand.
It's good to visit the market early on Wednesday morning, anyway I've enjoyed the video thank you.

These sellers usually arrive at the market on Tuesday from the province. Unload their plants and by Wed morning, you will see most of the plants are already for sale. This is the best day to buy. So many choices 😳They load/pack their plants on Thursday. Some want to go home early like 2pm, some later. No fix time as to when to go back home to their province. So, your best time to make your selections is on Wed. Thursday is best left for last moment's decision, preferably done in the morning. Hope this helps😊 By the way, bring a big luggage. Don't want to regret .....🤣

Thank you so much for the information and feedback! Yes, I am late to the market LOL. The intention to Bangkok was to travel with my family. haha. Hopefully, one day, I can travel to Thailand again for the sake of plant shopping with huge luggage and hopping to all the nurseries there. Thank you so much anyway!
