    You did an amazing job! The music perfectly fit every section of the game. My favorites have to be the tracks that play in all the random bars though. Still turn those on youtube sometimes 😂 thanks for watching :)

    Easily one of my all-time favorite games. I played this for many hours 20 years ago when it came out. Every space sim to ever come out since, I've measured against it, and has not held up to it, in my opinion of course. The awesome and beautiful atmosphere and music has just never been replicated. Some fun tips from an old player: before approaching large groups, you can fly straight up (compared to the horizontal plane of the system) before encountering packs of enemies, then fly at them, sometimes this will break up the packs a bit. Countermeasures work best when you burst 3-5 out real fast, not just one. In a first encounter with a group, you inevitably pass by them, drop mines right before you pass them. Torpedoes are slow, dumb, and expensive but do massive damage to unshielded bases, weapons/missile structures, and large ships. Last tip: before you run out of boost, turn off your engine and just coast! Most people don't know about that feature (z ore x button I think?) but the physics actually work. When you boost and turn them off, you'll coast at that speed and same direction and can rotate around and even face backwards and fire! It's a really fun maneuver :)

    Yeah honestly one thing i think freelancer did way better than any other space sim ive played is make a world that feels truly epic! All the planets and ships are so unique and cool looking, and the story is movie esque! Ill have to give those manuevers a try as well. Some of those later fights were really tough due to how many enemies there were so these tricks may come in handy!

    freelancer was released after microsoft bought the dev company and fired roberts for his incompetence in handling the game. developement under him was 2 years behind and if he was kept around the game might not have come out till years later if at all. which is why nobody who knows about this has much hope for star citizen as long as hes leading the developement. maybe star citizen will actualy be finished befor 2030 if microsoft buys robets´s new company and fires him from that as well.

    @@bormos3 the reason freelancer is remembered as one of the best space games is because microsoft streamlined the developement and cut out unneeded bits. theres a big difference between something looking good and actualy being good. and freelancer under roberts´s direction was a bloated mess with pieces of features and story that would have never worked out. and now the idiot is making the same mistakes again while people throw piles of money at him thinking they actualy get what theyre promised.

  • @Warrandpeace

    @@uteriel282 i think freelancer could have done more like expand on the mining, add more side activities, have like random capital ship battles all over, expand side factions, etc. i have a feeling that the team was in over their heads though, and didnt have the resources to get everything done so microsoft probably swooped in and had them put out a solid complete project that was doable.

    One thing that has bugged me playing this game is that you can't over level yourself, which means you can't use end game equipment in the main story. Its only when you finish the story that you even get access to ships that can mount class 7 or higher equipment. I REALLY wish they had been a new game+ mode to let us do that!

  • @Warrandpeace

    yeah there were for sure aspects of the game that coulda been fleshed out more. What was there was amazing, but slight things like that coulda been improved. At least you got like a billion extra systems to explore after the game. I went and found some WILD ones with black holes and mega strong enemies.

    I played this game so much, I was having dreams of playing the game. It was really good, mods made it even better, and kept it alive for a lot longer... But it has always been bugging me that the vanilla story somehow felt rushed by the end. And unfortunately it did not age well... meh, show me anything or anyone who still looks good after 20 years. xD

    One thing I don't like about this game is how the story breaks work. It seems tied to either money or time, not sure which, but there's lots of time between story missions where there's not much to do except grind out missions or aimlessly wander around hoping to find a wreck or something.

  • @Warrandpeace

    @Warrandpeace

    Yeah you do have to grind out tons of missions eventually. I think a fix for that could just be them adding in a larger variety of side missions or improving them in some way. Thatd at least make grinding a bit better!
