Located in Kolar and lying somewhere along the way from Bangalore to Chennai, Bangarpet is a town that’s familiar, at least by name, to many of us. Why, you ask? Well, simply because of its chaats, especially the signature pani puri you get in this little town! Popular across Karnataka, the Bangarpet pani puri has one striking difference that sets it apart from the usual fare - the pani is colourless! Although resembling water in appearance, the pani is spicy and pairs oh-so-well with the puris. Even the stuffing, in classic Bangarpet-style, comes with a generous dose of green peas. So, why all this Bangarpet pani puri talk? Well, we just found the perfect place where you can try this - Choice Chat Corner! Whether you’re planning to add it as a pitstop on your trip or even just plan a weekend drive to load up on chaat, this humble snack joint won’t disappoint.
Run by Ramakrishna, Choice Chat Corner has been around since the ’90s and is considered to be one of the oldest in the hood as well as the original spot for Bangarpet pani puri and chaats. So, obviously, you’ve got to try their Pani Puri. Loaded with the colourless pani and the filling, the puris are a true burst of flavours in your mouth. Much to our intrigue, they’ve even got flavoured panis for you to try. Think grape pani, pineapple pani, pudina pani and more! The Bangarpet Masala Puri and Special Dahi Puri are other options you can try. End your chaat-binging with a helping of their Gulkhand Salad. Although travelling 100 km just to try chaat may sound insane, we bet your trip will be worth it!
