Today I picked up the Bang and Olufsen A1 gen 2 and the Explore! They are definitely a premium brand, specifically because of the aluminum chasis used on both and the above average battery time. But the special part of these is how they produce the upper mids for vocals - with an almost magical quality. However, I still find the staple bluetooth speakers like the Marshall Emberton, Bose Soundlink Flex, and JBL Flip 5 to be a better buy and produce the full spectrum of sound a bit better. Hope you enjoy the review. If you are reading this whole paragraph, what are you doing with your life? Go outside and go for a walk or something, or do something nice for your parents. Gold Star for you for reading though.

Bass does not equal quality sound most manufacturers use bass to cover up the terrible quality of their speakers. The Bang and Olufsen sound is so perfectly balanced for the price it puts you right in the music like you’re there.

Not sure about the other speakers but when it comes to the A1, it must be resting on a firm sold platform in order for the base to perform best. Handling them in your hands will affect the outcome a lot. I have the A1 first gen, and all I can say is that every time friends listen to to its sound they just can’t believe that awesome sound quality especially base is coming from such a small speaker.

Yep, I have actually compared the Bose flex and the b&o a1 gen 2 and ended up going with the b&o - the sound stage is so much more mature and big, the bass is big, don’t worry about it - you’re not suppose to hold a speaker in your hand when you test it. The bass actually sounds better than the Bose if you ask me. Easily the best most fun speaker in this video’s list. (Flex is also great, better than the jbl and the mono sounding Marshall’s)

Actually I just got the A1 and I am quite happy. You can not compare it to pure speakers, as it is more a conference device like the Sennheiser SP-30 or the Jabra Speak 510 - with the side effect of a good music playback capatibility. I use it in my office connected to my office PC by USB and to an windows tablet for telephony, signal and webradio by bluetooth. USB has priority, so webradio automaticly stops when a call comes in on my office PC. Quite usefull. As B&O is sort of "designer brand" you sometimes get b-ware with just a little skretch for a reduced price. I paid 149€ for my A1 with a barely visible skratch. However, the sound quality of the Sennheiser SP-30 is also very good (but max sound level is less), and you get it used for about 45-70€ (I use it in homeoffice). The A1 definitly is an eyecatcher. Quite nice for smal video conferences.

Speakers in the air (hanging) near a corner of a room or even just a single wall, increases the bass by a lot! I have the Tribit and Anker speakers that compare to the Flex when positioned as I mentioned. I do not know if keeping the front of the speaker off a flat surface so you do not get any interference from sound reflecting off the flat surface is an issue. It just sounds better if raised up or at least near walls. I put them in wooden boxes when a wall is not available and the very front of the speaker is right up to the edge of box, or any flat surface.

Holding them up doesn’t accurately produce sound and the A1 blows away every single one of them. I’m a B&O fan and i don’t care for the explore, but none of those speakers are even a fraction as detailed, dynamic and controlled as the A1 🥴

Man I love that A1 so much. The clarity is absolutely amazing. And with very nice BASS. What's crazy is the fact that the A1 is only less than a half inch wider in diameter than the bose micro and other micro speakers. It's still super small but blows those other micro speakers AWAY! It's my favorite personal speaker. It's on a whole another level.

The B&O Explore is perfect for me. I hate bass! I hate bass that vibrates unnecessarily and steals the shine from the vocals. The Explore can also connect to B&O eq app with which I even went further to turn off all bass. Knowing what you love is important and don't fall for the "more bass is better" influence.

What a bizarre review! Surely the skill of any reviewer of audio products is to understand how to get the best out of the product they are reviewing. The A1 needs to be placed on a solid surface. Then you will hear plenty of bass. Holding the speakers up is a ridiculous way to test them. I have noticed that if you place speakers under a pile of blankets, they sound muffled . .

Well, not really... B&O still has their premium line. This is the line that is more targeted at a younger crowd as premium audio market is shrinking. Still, the BEOPlay range is still one of the best out there. This review doesn't do justice to the speaker (e.g., holding it in his hands and not using the equalizer). Hi Danny Pls recommend me a Marshall speaker that is really best! I listened my cousin’s Kilburn once like two years ago I couldn’t get my mind over its pure sound quality still remember that sound . I doubtlessly know how good Marshall speakers are . Let’s come to the main part - So I’m having a big party next month at home I need a really loud but not tearing loud speaker I need bass but also love balance clear sound . It’s not just only for party all in my family listen to music like lot and everyone got different tastes like balanced clear bassy loud, and we are tired of listening to cheap low price sound quality speaker. We want to make a one time investment in a speaker that last more than some years and deliver us just like new sound quality. Also I’m a little concerned about Airplay Wi-Fi Bluetooth support and lossless support and maybe Dolby compatible. Suggest me a Marshall speaker (or any other better option I know there’s none but still) that is best for all these aspects I’ve mentioned . Here are some keyword I want in a speaker- BALANCED, CRYSTAL CLEAR SOUND, BUT ABLE TO GET BASSY, SEEM-LESS CONNECTIVITY WI-FI AIRPLAY BLUETOOTH , AND LASTLY VALUE FOR MONEY AND REALLY LOUD AND CLEAR. And BEST. U can take ur time AS MUCH AS U WANT NO HURRY PARTY IS NEXT MONTH I CAN WAIT for ur final verdict. about this upload it’s nice I like those green speaker in their designs . U can make a Video on it too if u like it would be grateful.

Hi wow, what a detailed request! I've not doubt that you really are looking for the absolute best value for your money and I think I can make a suggestion with a few caveats! Firstly, no speaker will ever be "perfect" when they start becoming crystal clear in one area, they will often lose it in another area but I don't think that's what's totally important because your ears can fill in the gaps if the speaker is good enough and meets the intent of the music. This is why I think for sound quality as a good investment you should look for a Gen 1 Woburn or Stanmore Speaker (not the gen 2s!!) As far as bluetooth and airplay it might be worth looking at the Gen 2 Woburn and Stanmore as they have bluetooth 5.0 which works more seamlessly. I'll be releasing a new video that might answer your question or make it harder. I'll be comparing the Klipsch The Three II & The One II to the Marshall Stanmore and Woburn. Also thanks! I love the green color as well!

@@DannyPopsI know how gen 1s are best in sound quality (as I had listened to kilburn gen 1) but they are like RARE and lack current connectivity versions so may not be keep up for many years and I want lossless too that is available with the gen 2s . Guess I have to wait for your next upload to make the decision.
