The old B&O turntables look so cool. Glad you got this one working properly again

I´ve had my RX2 since 1991 and it still plays like a dream. Still have the original mmc5 cart that came with it, plus an original mmc1 that i got in 2001. B&O made some absolute quality stuff back then. Thank you for sharing.

Awesome Video! I just inherited this exact model from my Grandparents, and this was a great survey of service items.

Thanks for a nice video Rob. I happen to have a Beogram player myself and it's worth knowing that a company named SoundSmith does still make many compatible cartridges. They're the officially licensed supplier and were recently used for the anniversary edition Beogram 400C. Glad you found Benny for the rebuild!

This is just what I needed. Just picked up one of these, got cartridge, but something wrong with the belt. Hoping I have the same luck when I replace it. I also just took all the screws off the cover willy nilly like you did. Any tricks for getting those put back together? You didn't show that in the video. Thanks!

Thanks for the video! I got my RX2 in 1986, and I've been spinning it since. I have a Soundsmith cartridge, which I highly recommend. I have been having issues with my cueing dropping a few bars into the first track of the side. I've identified the adjustment from the manual, but I cannot figure out where it's located on the actual chassis. Any help? I'd love the rehab it back to my "A" deck.

Are you able to share a link to the service manual? I cannot find one. Thanks

Phone based pitch apps need to center on a roll of tape to not knock the suspension off balance. Strobe discs are ultimately easier and more accurate.

What app are you using to measure the rotation speed? Very interesting video. I learned a lot.

It's called "rpm speed and wow". Glad you liked the video!

@@RobsFixitShop awesome, thanks for the reply. I had a customer ask me if I could repair a turntable for them. The speed, wow, and flutter I know are important, but I haven't worked on one before. I've been a bit hesitant to say yes, because I lack some of the equipment I've seen others use. That app looked like it may save me some money.

Styrofoam and PVC should never be stored in contact with each other. That's why cables come wrapped in polythene bags.

When you removed the dust cover 2 small dumbbell looking parts fell out. Where do they go? I had the same thing happen to me

Those are the ‘rollers’ that go 😮under longish wire like spring support for the cover. There’s a V/U shaped part on those wire springs, rollers go between the spring and the plastic dust cover.

Does anyone work on these turntables commercially?

You made a mistake! You need to remove the turntable platter, and take another look at the printed steps 1 and 2. You only did step 1, which unlocked the platter. You didn't do step 2, which is to loosen three flat screws, rotate the disks beneath them slightly, then fully tighten the three screws. This unlocks the suspension. Enjoy!
