Bandlab. How to match your vocals to the beat

Музыка

How to properly set up audio latency compensation in bandlab so your phone records vocals and audio tracks in time with the beat or bars of your song. And how to match your recorded vocals and audio tracks to the beat or bars of your song, if they are out of timing with the beat after being recorded.

I'm using an imported track and every time I try to record something with it, two things happen at once. I am unable to hear the track as it's recording and the track stops when it hears audio in the recording and then goes right back to playing when the audio is gone. Do you think you could possibly help me out?

    Jj Everett Hi, it's never too late to join the party 😀 First, make sure your version of bandlab is the latest version. Check your phone is not low on storage space. Close all other apps on your phone. Try starting a new project with a vocal track. Record some vocals on the track. Then add a second vocal track and try recording on the second vocal track. Can you hear the first vocal track when recording the second vocal track? Does it record the second vocal track okay?

    TUZ-ZeeKay This tutorial shows how to fix latency and how to move the vocal track so it is in time with the beat. If this does not fix your problem then perhaps the singer is not singing the lyrics to the beat, which will not be so easy to fix after recording. This tutorial might help the singer sing the lyrics to the beat... kzread.info/dash/bejne/iHx4q8OwhNafXdo.html or simply, the lyrics may actually not be suitable for that beat.

  • @IbandUK

    @IbandUK

    Жыл бұрын

    Nikhil Kumar Hi, two things come to mind here that are common problems when starting out in audio mixing. 1. A stereo mixed song will sound different when played through one speaker (mono mix), if tracks in the same audio frequency have been panned in the stereo mix to stop them blending together into a mess (because they won't be pannned in a mono mix). EQ the tracks to remove the problem audio frequencies from competing tracks. 2. Different speakers produce different audio frequency ranges and may be designed to boost specific audio frequencies, so pro mixing is about mixing the best compromise. Firstly, to mix professionally, you need to learn how the mix sound through your headphones... This is not the same as how good the mix sounds through your headphones. To do this, listen to a published song that is similar to your song and try to replicate the sound mix of the published song. Also avoid trying to boost low frequencies by increasing there volume and use a bit of distortion instead.

    Tony Brooks There are several ways to reduce the volume of an instrument track... 1. Drag the dot on the track volume slider, on the mixer settings screen, to the left 2. Add a gain fx to the track and drag the dot on the gain slider to the left 3. To reduce the volume of a track clip (rather than the whole track), tap on the clip, tap on the 3 dots on the popup menu, tap on Gain, then drag the dot on the gain slider at the bottom of the screen, to the left.

    hi everytime i record the song the quality of my beat is getting worse any advice?

  • @IbandUK

    2 жыл бұрын

    stefchii Hi, if you click on the mixer settings icon (bottom left of the track mixer screen) and tap on the S (solo) icon to the left of the beat track name, then play your song... Is the beat quality back to original? There are several things that might cause this... 1. If the microphone is picking up the beat when you record vocal tracks. Wear headphones to listen to beat when recording vocals 2. Other tracks are panned too close to the beat track(s). Use the pan knob icons on the mixer settings screen to move the other tracks left or right in the stereo mix 3. Other tracks are using the same sound frequencies as the beat track. Add the Graphics EQ fx to the other tracks and move the dots on the 100hz and 200hz sliders to the left. 4. Too many fx on your tracks. Fx like reverb and echo can easily ruin a song if the feedback setting is too high or are used on too many tracks (particularly if different reverbs and echoes are used on different tracks). Mute all tracks except the beat track(s), then unmute on track at a time to see which track(s) are affecting your beat.

  • @IbandUK

    @IbandUK

    6 ай бұрын

    @karimnz Hi, make sure you are using headphones to listen to your song when recording vocals, so the other tracks are not recorded onto the vocal track. Singing closer to the microphone and pointing the microphone at your mouth will help record louder vocals. Use the pan knob on the other tracks to move them to the left or right of the vocals in the mix, to give the vocals space to be heard. Usually, in bandLab, you will also need to turn down the volume of instrument tracks, as the volume is usually set too loud by bandlab.

The latency setting is in android because the audio recording latency in android devices can vary hugely from device to device but ios devices have the same latency. Note that the latency setting only adjusts the position of the vocal recording in relation to the rest of the song and does not affect hardware latency.

Now go to the settings screen and you will see the key scale has been identified by bandlab. This of course assumes that the singer is able to sing every note in tune, otherwise the wrong key scale may be detected.
