QUARTER MILE RACE 2023: SHOWING THE FLAG IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL FEDERATION!
Horsepower, tyre wear particles on the asphalt, howling engines, the smell of a vehicle repair shop in the air: in short, everything that drives climate hysterics crazy but motorsports fans love was on offer at the ¼-mile race at the airport in Vilshofen, Lower Bavaria, on 15 August. Not only were there hot head-to-head races in the various vehicle classes, but the temperatures were no less scorching. However, the weather gods were kind to the event, as the predicted summer thunderstorm did not arrive until after the prize-giving ceremony, i.e. the end of the event. Therefore, the climate was friendly towards that ¼-mile race.
That annual event has developed an enormous fan base over the past few years and, not least due to the beautiful weather, was once again able to enjoy many thousands of visitors this year. A particular highlight is the Harley Davidson class, which regularly attracts many spectators. Without any doubt, the ideal opportunity for the Bandidos MC to participate in this public event in a scenery-appropriate manner. That is why the Bandidos MC South Central Federation, jointly with the nearby Chapter Deggendorf, provided a team and an appealing presentation of a Red-and-Gold drivers camp. Throughout the event, the latter attracted visitors from other Clubs and ordinary people who did not want to miss the opportunity to talk to the Red and Gold Family´s representatives and pause in our camp for some time. Brothers from numerous Chapters of the BMC South Central Federation had arrived to either actively participate or to spend an entertaining, enjoyable, good time among Brothers and with interested visitors. The atmosphere could not have been better.
As far as the riders' squadron was concerned, in addition to Bandidos members and members of Support Clubs, a befriended MC affiliated with our squadron. They rode with their Club-Vest, as well the racing shirts of the Red and Gold Squadron as a sign of solidarity and belonging to the same camp. It wasn't enough for first place this year, but at least a young driver from a Bandidos Support Club made it onto the podium and took third place. However, in the overall picture, there were basically only winners! - Numerous rounds of "402 metres of adrenaline" gave drivers and spectators alike a euphoric thrill of speed that they will - without getting a hangover - feed on for a long time.
