Pour son dernier concert de la saison, le Big Band sort le grand jeu et propose une soirée exceptionnelle afin de célébrer Ron Di Lauro, qui prendra sa retraite cette année. Trompettiste accompli, professeur à la Faculté de musique de l’UdeM, il est à la tête du le Big Band depuis plus de 20 ans. Sous sa direction, plusieurs musiciennes et musiciens de jazz ont eu le privilège de se former avant d’entamer une carrière professionnelle. Au programme de ce concert : les grands succès du Big Band, un florilège de morceaux et des invités surprises!

Congratas for Maestro Ron di Lauro, 20 Years is Something ! I could see you last year 2022 in the last Concert of The Montreal International Jazz Festival at The National Monument Theater - opening for singer RANEE LEE for the presentation of her new album. This morning I woke up enjoying the Big Band of L'Universite de Montreal under your guidance and featuring two old friends; pianist Hilariio Duran with his compositions and arrangementes extraordinaires, and percussionist Kiko Osorio. Great Session and the singer very good too, in great use of the Spanish language in a Classic Cuban Bolero !
