JIMMY PAGE OF ( LED ZEPPELIN ) loves this band. He met the group back stage and asked if he could have his picture taken with the drummer( AKANE ) she thought it was a dream ( it was not ) a rock legend like that giving props to the girls, how awesome is that.Jimmy Page( LED ZEPPELIN) just after seeing the band play in Tokyo in 2016. He complimented Akane. Akane was star struck. She later said Mr Jimmy Page-san offered her much encouragement and she promised to do her best. The talent level is off the charts, These girls are flat out ROCK STARS. SHRED ON LADIES...

I'm 65 yrs old and grew up with Zeppelin, Queen etc and I love these girls. They are fantastic musicians and I have a about 4 1/2 hrs of their music on a thumb drive that i plug into my car stereo for road trips, by the way this song is used as a bathroom break / voice rest for Saiki along with Miku's Magic Time which gives everybody a bit of a break.

I think a lot of people underestimate Miku and look at her as the cute rythymn guitarist, but she is the heart of the group. She can sing, but was smart enough to know that they needed a stronger presence at lead vocals, which Saiki fills very admirably. But Miku is still a strong piece of all the vocals. I'm in my 70's and this particular song reminds me of the late 50's and early 60's when all rock bands opened with a kickass instrumental. I think as a group they are the finest technical rock band, or any other kind of band, on Earth. When you put Kanami. Miku, Misa and Akane together, it's literally magic. And the simple fact that they enjoy what they are doing makes them even more endearing.

They are absolute pro´s ! A 5-string bass instant sledge, a stealth shredder on lead guitar and a re-incarnated John Bonham. First get sucked in by the cutesy outfits and then get spit out by the raw power these women deliver.

I agree completely. It' breaks my heart that rock like this in the West is pretty much dead. But when I first got interested in Asian music, first with Wagakki Band, then BabyMetal, Japan X and others I was floored by the excellence and plain talent there. I always love the girl bands of the past, The Go Go's, The Bangles, The Motels and others and they are no longer in evidence in the West. Japan alone has close to 20 girl bands that are amazing, like Band-Maid, Band-Maiko, Girlfriend, SCANDAL, Aldious, MarysBlood and SO many others. But Band-Maid is at the top of the mountain looking down on everyone else. I HAVE to see them live at least once before I pass through the veil, along with Wagakki Band and BabyMetal. They are my top 3.

It's not that you can compare their professionality today but the fans that have followed them for a couple of years *know* that they are their future of good *NEW* rock music. You can get an idea about their fans' devotion after looking at this *Kickstarter* they started a few days ago. You will notice that quite a few people are willing to pay for Ale's "snacks" ( _if you watch the video at the top you will understand_ ). 🤣 www.kickstarter.com/projects/thewarningrockband/new-album-and-23-date-northamerican-tour

Random thoughts... it's funny how many Zep fans love this band. Really very different but both powerful in their own ways. Band-Maid is the first band in a long time that gets me excited. Also, Miku. Everyone comments about the greatness of the other 4, but Miku is totally in the mix and rounding out the sound. For someone who learned the guitar for the part, she is now without a doubt a great rhythm player who tracks very well with the drums and bass. She's perfect support for what Kanami does. This is just one of those rare combinations of players that are perfect together.

Band Maid is not hugely popular YET, but we are working on it. I listen to them STILL everyday, and I have been a fan since their "Just Bring It" release. Saw them a few months back in Dallas, Texas. It was an amazing show, even though I had trouble seeing the band over the crowd. No light show or effects, just the band playing through borrowed amps. Seeing them live is actually more amazing than the live videos (which is rare). I think one of the best qualities within the band is they do not take themselves too seriously. They joke, they play tricks on each other (and the audience). They just put on a great show period.

Well, MISA and Akane went to a professional music school, and a very prestigious one: the Tokyo School Music, and Akane play not only drums, also piano and trombone (yes, trombone). They have a very solid music foundation. The great thing about Band Maid is that when you buy an album from them, all the themes are awesome. Not bad track, no filling parts. All the themes sounds really god and in live they sound ever better. This says a lot about their capacity to compose music, maybe is the japanese obsession with perfection who push them to do things. Also of course, the "maid issue". The band was founded by Miku, the back vocals and rithming guitar. Sure she is the less technical and less experienced of the group in the music area, but a true genius of marketing. She sells the band everywhere she goes and she do a lot of things outside the band music area. To appears on interviews, TV specials and things like that. Her pose of a "crazy girls" y carefully crafted, she is not crazy, she if playing an act to entertain the audience. She have a lot of experience in this area, she was a "real maid" in a Maid Café working part time in one of those places in Akihabara (an área of Tokyo famous for manga, anime and maid cafe among others things). Think about this: Band Maid was Miku idea, but when the band was formed they choose Akane as band leader simply because "she is the older and more experienced". She choose a new vocalist because she know that her voice isn´t to good for this kind of music (but she can sing, even sing one them in concerts to entertain the audience among a fun play) The strange thing and sure Internet was as fault, is the growing popularity of japanese bands (among others) in Europe and America. The japanese record companies never were much interested in shell their music overseas and now people are "discovering" singers and groups who are playing for years. Some of them for about a decade or even more. Oh, Band Maiko starts as an April´s fool. They change one of their songs to "Secret my Lips" to "Secret Maiko lips" and says "we are not maids anymore, we are going to become geisha so we start as Maiko". The joke have to much success than they repeat next years and even they are selling an album of tracks who are "band maid tracks" changin some music, introducing some traditional instruments, singing in Kansai dialect and even changing their names for the album, (very funny names, some of them playing with words but you need to understand some japanese to understand them. As an example, in Band Maid Miku surname is "Kobato" who can be translated as "small pigeon" but in Band Maiko she changed to "Hatoko" who can be translated as "Pigeon kid".

They have at least four instrumentals. Band-Maid's fan base, such as it is, are completely dedicated and fanatical about this incredible group of musicians. And this is compounded by casual fans who like some of the music that, frankly, they don't understand. Speaking only for myself l became a fan with the release of the MV Alone awhile back. Later the album World Domination made me a fanatic. Not one bad song on that album. And lastly, catching their show in LA last September caused me to become rapid. I was in line for the show on Glendale and there l found good people from all over. I had driven down from Sacramento which is 369 miles each way. That was just a drive down the street. I partied with people from NYC, Seattle, Phoenix, Texas and one gentleman even flew in from Australia just to see two shows there at the Echoplex. Realize these shows sold out quickly with NO advertising of any sort. Except for the line of people you could not tell that there was an event even going on. No posters. The marquee was blank. Only if you were paying attention on social media or you were a member of the fan club would you know. Band-Maid appears at Inkcarceration 2020 at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield on July 11th. They also are at Knotfest in Japan with Tool, Korn and Babymetal. It also appears this group of four will be in Mexico this Spring. And as l doubt Live Nation and UTA will be satisfied merely having Band-Maid appear at one festival only we could surely see this a few times in North America in the upcoming year. Fingers crossed.

@@DMiyash248 Well, you know, that is one solution, except I'm using full headphones that don't fit quite right when I put them on backwards. I suppose I could ship it through my stereo system and reverse the speakers. : )

If you love good classic rock, they're an easy sell. Here's a live version of my favorite BAND-MAID song, 'Secret My Lips': kzread.info/dash/bejne/hYSbralxfaaqmqQ.html I would recommend that you react to this before 'Secret Maiko Lips', the special BAND-MAIKO April 1st, 2018 version. You'll get the most out of it that way.

How to pronounce Akane . . . kzread.info/dash/bejne/f6x2vLeddLnafM4.html Maiko is pronounced (My-Koo) not (May-Koo), hence the pun on their song 'Secret My Lips', 'Secret Maiko Lips'. If you really want to see some tapping watch, 'Blooming'. If you want something really heavy watch 'Rin'ne'. But they're range is broad and deep. The have all sorts of song. If you're not into one, just keep going. Even Miku sings one called 'Rock In My' during the break, aka Miku's Magic Time'. So much Band-Maid, so little time.

Awesome stuff! They are just the complete package. You guys should also check out LOVEBITES. They're an all-female power metal band from Japan. Their latest album, Electric Pentagram, is IMMENSE. They won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band in 2018 and have played Wacken, Download and Bloodstock festivals here in Europe, plus they supported DragonForce on their UK tour a couple of months back. They haven't done many music videos but try: When Destinies Align (from the new album): kzread.info/dash/bejne/moB6x86CaZa8m7A.html Shadowmaker (from their first album): kzread.info/dash/bejne/nWer27ebls-chLw.html

Ok, going to reveal how much I listen to Band Maid..... somewhere in your set up you have your right and left channels reversed. Kanami is always right ear and Miku is left ear, and that is reflected by the fact when facing the stage Kanami stands on the right side. I would have to put my head phones on backwards to make this sound right... not a big issue, just something I noticed on here.

Band-Maid is the best, but Japan is drowning in all-female metal, punk and hard-rock bands. It's weird. For such a sexist society, something crazy has happened in rock music, and it's all being led by the women.

I think it's a shame that your just not getting it because they are a breath of fresh air to the rest of us. Many of us are older and it reminds us of the music we listened to when we were young. We've been putting up with hip hop and lots of other stuff that we really hate for many years now and then along came Band MAID and it was like a gift from God. I don't think BAND MAID fans will criticize you for not liking it as I think we are all just grateful that there's some music that we like for a change but I hope that you eventually get a bit more out of it for yourself.

@@averyteplitsky885 Don't worry friend. You don't get it. And l am glad you don't. If everyone did l seriously doubt l would love them as much as l do. Appreciation of Band-Maid is a litmus test of sorts. I will go out on a limb and say you didn't like or understand the Grateful Dead, either. That band was a litmus test during its time as well. John Lennon said it well while introducing a song on stage. Maybe it will serve as illustration of this difference that has always existed in this regard. Lennon: We'd like to carry on now with our newest song, or electronic noise depending upon whose side you are on and that song is Help. You are simply one from the electronic noise side. Your opinion has been logged.
