Sorry to hear Mate, my darkness has not been the same as yours and I can't imagine it, but similarly these incredible women and their music have brought such joy to my world when I needed it most, just turned 65 and this is the band of my life, cheers and best wishes from Oz 👍🍻

@@paulevans8651 Thank You Paul..I went to those 2 concerts...I spent 3 weeks in Japan for TGT and 2 weeks for Yoko...solo..Japan was something special..I truly wish I could go again..but money now no longer possible. Am hoping they come to UK..which means London (Boo)..But thats still some distance from me as I am in Scotland...So still will be costly.

The often thankless job of a drummer... Although I'm sure that anyone who follows the ladies a little longer could never forget about Akane. We see and hear her very well, and that in every song! 🥁❤‍🔥🤘🏻

I suggest you watch again and focus on the drummer Akane. You overlooked her completely. She was amazing the entire concert.

Saiki (the lead vocalist) wrote this one, usually they are mostly written by Miku (rhythm guitar). Clearly someone really annoyed her and she let it all out in her lyrics! Akane's drumming often gets overlooked when Kanami and MISA call and respond but she's the scaffold it all hangs on with her subtle and elegant playing.

That was song 27 of a 33 song set, 3 hour concert. Out of this world energy and stamina. Misa has moved into legend territory.

I'm older young man but that's okay! I "Love!!!!!" this song. Best "kiss off" song I've heard in a long time. "Ten minutes of limp gymnastics"- what a put down. Tn my eyes these young talented, professional, and COOL young women can do no wrong. They recently did an acoustic oku-ji (concert) in Japan. If you want to explore their versatility, I believe you can pull up on the Band-Maid KZread channel their Christmas 2021 on-line oku-ji for their fans. Several songs from the concert stand out to me. All are acoustic remakes of their recorded rock songs. "Catharsis, "Sayonakidori", and "Page" are beautiful renditions of those songs. My favorite Band-Maid song is "Wonderland". It's an almost jazzy pop-rock sounding song that shows Saiki's vocal range. Actually, you can't go wrong with any song by the Maids. Many fans love and request "Blooming" the official music video.

"?" is very important. "Hate' is an English word for many of you, but for us Japanese, it can read as はて Ha-Te which means guessing, wondering or questioning. We often use this little word when we come across something not sure or when we're confused. For most of you, this song means simply a girl really HATES a guy, for us Japanese, we could hear also that she trys to Hates him because she loves him so much.

I know that subtlety can be lost in a Japanese to English translation, but when Saiki says in English "Don't give a shit no more", that's pretty definitive to our ears. 🙂

I dunno seems pretty unambiguous to me, unless something was lost in the translation of "I don't care if you die out" or "in my dreams you're nowhere to be found" (what a line)

The best band in the world, in my opinion. Puzzle is would be a good one to go to next, but really, there is no wrong choice.

Relic , I don`t know what lyrics you saw , but BAND-MAID has added close captioning lyrics to there videos just click on CC , they even added them to older videos .

I got the full Blue-ray concert last week and it is 3 hrs of out of this World ROCK!!! 33 songs and you can't pick the best one. these ladies are just pure Rock. I even teared up at the last song. I think I already mentioned it but you have to listen to the acoustic version of "Catharsis" to really see how great they are.

The thing I am most impressed by with Band-Maid, especially in their live videos, is the excellent sound mix. Every instrument you can hear perfectly balanced, and most often, each one gets a 'moment to shine." Not a weak link in the entire band. As for song requests, check out "Onset" live version (an instrumental), and "Blooming" official music video.

Inasmuch I love this version, some moments in Lolapalooza stand out. For example in the end of the duel, Miku played rhythm with Kaname. Also I love her expression duiring the song, her scream.

In songs and in performances, it's not unusual for both MISA and Kanami to take a solo. The song just before this one in the concert was *"Dice"* which also has a bass then a guitar solo. Sometimes they wind up soloing at the same time; *"Manners"* is a prime example where Kanami takes a solo but if you listen to MISA she's doing her own at the same time (and they mesh, which is the most amazing thing). *"After Life"* is another (short) example. When you have a bassist like MISA, you find a way to let her shine!

Yes, it's their Patented Call & Response "Battle". You can see it in the new version of 'Don't You Tell ME' LIVE from this same show, as well as The Original Version of that song, But to see that one along with 'Take Me Higher' LIVE's "Battle" you'd have to go to the Chinese site, Bilibili. They were taken down from KZread ahead of a DVD release.

Guitar/Bass battles are a thing with Band-Maid

Highly suggest the video of manners and black hole live. Its from one of their live stream shows during lock down and it does a great job of showing a glimpse of how they can play whater genre they want. Manners (my favorite solng) is a funcky groovy stoner rock song and black hole is basically an experimental slap in the face lol. Regardless, keep them coming!!

Just need to watch it a few more times concentrating on each instrument. 😀 With subtitles ON, eventually, you’ll understand the context. Although, in this case, Saiki-san is speaking as the scorned partner after he cheated rather than herself.

Yes, Saiki wrote the lyrics to "Hate?" is express her anger and outrage over a close friend of hers being betrayed by an adulterous husband during the Covid lockdown. Saiki's blistering lyrics burns that cheater into charred ashes to be blown away by the wind.

I’m an old cat, too. Band Maid has an extensive and creative catalog. Kinda like the polar opposite of AC/DC? It was interesting to hear you compare them to Pat Benatar. I only wish Band Maid’s sound engineers would get Kanami’s guitar out front like Neil’s was. I’m always excited to see someone explore their music for the first time. You didn’t make a playlist for them yet, so I made one “From Now On” “Don’t You Tell ME” “Thrill” “Freedom” “Hate?” Here are some examples from other lanes of travel: “Daydreaming,” uptempo rock ballad with a Santana/Giraldo-worthy solo “DICE,” OMV. I do wish their mixes had Kanami bumped up by another 15% or so. Though, in this live HATE?, she was in a much better place in the mix than, for example, Domination's live video. I've seen BAND-MAID live. Kanami's lead guitar was definitely right out front, for the in-person experience.

You can't HATE? two full minutes of one of the most epic Bass/Guitar Solos and Battle! One guy likened this battle to representing a couple having an argument with them going back and forth hard, screaming at each other. I think I might agree.

I just got my limited edition blu-ray of this concert. I suggest you order it and then react to all 33 congs on it. The entire thing is brilliant. I enjoyed hearing you say "A lot of you say this bassist is the shit"--you have not idea what's coming!

Band Maid is epic, one of my favorite show in my 40 years of concert going. You really need to head into the next 2 female J-Metal bands with a growing and international following in Nemophila-Zen or Oiran live and Hanabie.We Love Sweets or Otaku videos.

I would like to see you react to Dice music video or Onset live. 2 of my all time favorite Band-Maid songs. Dice being a studio music video and Onset a live instrumental . Great reaction as always.

I've said this on multiple reaction videos of this song. Kanami and Misa certainly steal the show here. On the other hand, Akane's drumming is straight up beastly. Also, regarding the lyrics, I sort of feel bad for the SOB that Saiki wrote these lyrics about. "10 minutes of limp gymnastics". All I have to say is this. OUCH! 😂😂

When I was 17 or so I was thrown from my VW Beetle and landed in afield. When I woke up the next day I had to get my mom to bring me a coffee can to pee in. Guess what? When I wake up everyday I feel the same way!!! BandMaid love the bass/guitar showdown. MISA (aka MISA MISA MISA) is doing so much more than holding down the lowend. She's creating counterpoint to Kanami's lead or she is playing around with the vocal line with harmony or simply playing a contiguous stand alone solo that runs parallel with the rest of the players. Yeah she is a fantastic player but a better writer. Not much left to chance with BandMaid. They write music, they refine that shit and then they rehearse that shit until they can play it on a dark smokey stage with lazers flashing in their eyes. You might be able to outplay them, you may be able to out sing them but by gawd you'll never be able to out work them! Great reaction as usual Mr. 3R! (Yoyoka drops a sweet song from her upcoming original music album on April 10th. I can't say enough good things about it. Just a heads up)

Yeah, maybe the lyrics are a little rough, as you say: “I hate you, I don’t give a shit about you, f you …” Well, if somebody said that to me accompanied with that bass (ah, that bass!), those guitars and those drums, I might still feel in heaven and ask for an encore… (Having said that, I truly hope I ‘ve never given reason - nor ever will - to a woman to say these things to me). There may be a different interpretation of the lyrics too, as I can see in at least one of the comments here.
