Welcome Home Princess Nikki! It's great to see you reacting to Band Maid again. I hope you are feeling much better and having a wonderful day. They did all start out wearing similar maid outfits, but they have evolved the uniforms (battle gear) over the years. Misa the Bass player's uniform has changed more into an Assassin Maid uniform, and Saiki's (the lead singer) uniform has evolved into a more Boss Maid outfit. Kanami the lead guitarist used to wear a uniform that was more white than black, but she switched with this current uniform to a predominantly black uniform. They previewed the newest uniforms at their 10th Anniversary tour finale, and the "Hate?" video was from that show. The live video of "Don't You Tell Me" was also from that show and would be a great video for you to try.

All five ladies wear maid outfits, but only three of them are in the traditional maid style. Miku (guitar/vocals) and Kanami (lead guitar) wear the most classic maid style, though Kanami's newest version has a lot more black in it. Drummer Akane wears a variation on the classic theme, but it is stylized and sleek to allow her more movement while drumming. Lead vocalist Saiki's outfit is more in line with a governess or housemistress type servant's uniform. Bassist MISA wears an outfit based loosely on a traditional Chinese design, but incorporating elements of anime and manga, and they refer to her look as an "assassin maid" style.

Band Maid's music/performances have healing power. Really. Truly. The more you listen to them, the stronger, happier and more centered you will feel. Try it. Band Maid Forever!!!!!

The bassist and vocalist wore the Maid outfits in the first year or so of the band. You can see them in early maid outfits in their first video Thrill. But they didn't really like them personally. . The outfits they switched to fit their persona much better. They actually didn't tell the lead singer about the maid outfits until she joined the band.

This performance is from their 10 Year Anniversary Concert in Yokohama Japan last fall. There are also live videos of Don't You Tell Me and Endless Story which are both very good. Endless Story is was the last song of the 3.5 hour concert.

They are actually all wearing different types of maid outfits! They are still all wearing their maid uniforms!!

Hey Nikki, glad to see you're feeling better. As always, your health comes before YT. Take all the time you need. Yep, just a little duel between Kanami's guitar and Misa's bass.🎸🎸🤘🤘. And that was song #27 in a 33 song set. They all started with more maid looking outfits, but Misa and Saiki didn't care for those, and have modified their wardrobe since. These lyrics aren't too hard to figure out. LOL. Saiki wrote the lyrics on this one, iirc a friend's husband cheated on her, and she's voicing her ...ummm....displeasure... Sure , do more Band Maid, "Thrill" is an older song, the one that got them going and saved the band.

Last year in May I saw Band-Maid at WELCOME TO ROCKVILLE and I stayed at Hard Rock Hotel the last song I heard on that trip was Oasis "Champaign Super Nova" it went to my playlist to mark a sentimental moment in my Band-Maid journey ❤

Welcome Princess to the best rock band on the planet. These beautiful ladies have been rocking for about 10 years and are in their early 30s now. Be warned they will come for your soul with plenty of Solo work from Misa (bass) and Kanami (lead). Drum fills and solos from Akane are killer. Formed in 2013, Band-Maid first gained international notice in April 2015 when the Facebook page of internet radio station Jrock Radio promoted the music video for "Thrill" and it went viral in 2015. The great thing is they always look so happy with great interactions with their fans. Some of my favourite tracks are Play, Domination, Don’t You Tell Me, Dice, Freedom, Onset, From now on, Without Holding Back, Hate and Bestie. Any Maids track always ROCKS and they have an extensive back catalogue (130+ tracks). They are all so different and are all great tracks. The 5 Band-Maid members: SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals and melodies. MIKU Kobato (Me-Ku), "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals and lyricist. KANAMI Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar and keyboards. AKANE Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums. MISA (Me-Sa), "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass. Their Battle Gear as they call it with slight variations are standard French maid outfits for Akane, Miku and Kanami, MISA ditched the French maid outfit early on and started to wear a Chinese inspired maid outfit - in black of course. It's partly how MISA got her nickname 'The Barefoot Assassin'. Well, she always plays barefoot, and Miku joked her outfit was an “assassin maid”. Saiki's outfit is more Spanish inspired. The Ladies in more detail: SAIKI Atsumi is the youngest; “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. She’s into train spotting and collecting trainers. Very girly, into doing her nails and is a fashion icon. She’s really into Baseball and the Hanshin Tigers. Don't mess with her you will lose. But she has a heart of gold and a killer dry sense of humour. She has recently started writing lyrics. MIKU Kobato or “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR Spokes Pigeon. She was originally going to sing vocals but stepped back for Saiki and learnt guitar instead, she couldn’t play when she formed the band and was initially tutored by Kanami. Miku's new signature Zemaitis guitar has pigeons on the fret board. The “Flappy Pigeon” is a beautiful model. Miku claims to be an 810 year old pigeon and makes pigeon noises when she speaks. Po! She’s very good at poker, really into horses and horse racing. Very clumsy (may fall into ditches). Has the energy of an average nuclear power station mixed with weapons grade cuteness? A comedian onstage - literally! She is the heart and soul of the band. KANAMI Tono is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want is more! Kanami plays a PRS; the birds on the fret board are a tribute to Paul Reed Smith's mum who was an avid birdwatcher. Kanami has two personas. Normally a tiny cute shy very polite lady who seems very innocent (the band have to explain dirty jokes to her) until she puts on her guitar. The band say: "then she gets quite violent" - she turns into the shredding rock star she is. When she takes guitar off she turns back to the little girl. She likes cakes, coffee and is totally infatuated by Saiki. She adores Saiki very much, to everyone's amusement. AKANE Hirose, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during a performance!) rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. She usually has a big grin on her face while drumming manically, Akane was also a DJ (under the name DJ Achi) and likes dancing and goofing with MISA. She also plays trombone! MISA! An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. Misa usually plays a Black Cloud 5 string bass aka “Black Smoker”. MISA is very shy onstage (and a total clown offstage with Akane). Because of her shyness she often drinks onstage, you can often spot a bottle of Jim Beam on her amp. She drinks it neat. Lately she’s been drinking more beer than whiskey though, good girl. She doesn't say much, but when she does it's usually totally hilarious! At a lot of concerts you will hear the fans chanting MISA! MISA! MISA!

Welcome back to the Maids Prince Nikki. It's been a while and great to see you reacting to the Maids again. I like to think of the "battle" between guitar and bass as them having a conversation. I saw them live in Phoenix a couple years ago, they were great.

Saiki was pissed off here, the song is a bit of her letting off steam about her bestie’s husband being unfaithful! I wouldn’t like to be in his shoes if she got hold of him! Great guitar and Bass soloing, sometimes I sort of half wish Alé would cut loose with a solo on the odd occasion 😂! I hadn’t used to be that keen on them but they’ve kinda grown on me since 2 years ago when they had their meet up with The Warning and this year’s joint concert was a great thing to happen for them both. They did make a new joint song, Show me, which from what bit I’ve seen of it is pretty good, it’s going to be part of the new Band-Maid album released later in the summer!

They wore matching outfits in the beginning, but SAIKI and MISA were never enthusiast about the aesthetic. SAIKI hated the apron and Discarded it after their first concert. They debuted their latest style, which tones down they maid aesthetic considerably, at the concert you just watched, which was the final show of their year-long, multinational, 10th Anniversary Tour.

I love the Maids! I almost feel sorry for the guy. Saiki guts him in this song.

Great reaction and the definition of a maid is fluid, the bass player, MISA, is an "assassin maid", she needs to be all in black. The singer, Saiki, is the head maid that greets the customers entering their establishment. The singer Saiki wrote the lyrics; there was a lot of cheating occurring during covid lock down in the press at that time and Saiki was pissed. The singer LISA (a friend of drummer Akane) was also affected by this as her husband was caught cheating and created a big scandal.

Don't ever piss Saiki the lead singer off. She wrote the lyrics.

Normally I’d agree, but in a song called “hate?” where the sexual ability of the person in question is described as “10 minutes of limp gymnastics”, I feel like a guitar battle is an appropriate description.

Saiki (lead singer) did the lyrics for Hate. She can be a wordsmith, but this one is just brutal: "I don't care if you die out." Not just you, but you and your _entire_ _species_ 😆

Nikki has returned, you have missed much in the world of Band-Maid. Here's a hint, find the lyrics online, read them first then react and turn your closed caption off then you don't have to take your eyes off these girls for one second. I don't listen or read lyrics, just here for the pure musicianship and song writing. We old drummers are like that.

Champagne Supernova is my favorite Oasis track. I like Wonderwall too but I think I’m done with the riff. It’s been so overplayed.
