Corallium is a great song and indeed shows quite well why Saiki is one of the best singers in this field for me. And that she has a talent for writing lyrics, she also proved with this track. :) 🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊

I love Corallium. Saiki wrote the lyrics for this one. The more I listened to it the higher it climbed on top songs, with BLACK HOLE and Manners. Another great reaction.

Sai-chan said that she wanted to write the lyrics of love song using the word "drown". This song is in my top 5 Band-Maid songs👍

This has been one of my favourite Band Maid songs from the moment they dropped it on the Sense single. Love the vocals, and this is one of my favourite guitar riffs from Kanami. The only thing that could make it better is if MISA was featured, but you can still hear her putting in the work underneath all the chaos. I think it's brilliant.

Great reaction, glad you liked this song. I think this is one of their best songs of all time and top 3 for me along with Blooming and Black Hole, although they have many many great songs. Corallium is fairly complex so gets better with each listen too.

“Corallium” is by far my favorite song of the EP. I loved it the the first time I heard it on SENSE EP. R&B, Hard-Rock, Metal? It’s just BAND-MAID. I read some comments by people complaining about BAND-MAID going commercial, flirting with K-Pop or I don’t know what nonsense. People don’t see that the band is evolving and becoming more and more unique. BAND-MAID are just becoming themselves. It’s cool, from time to time, to hear a little of blues influenced rock or 80’s hard-rock or 90’s rock but isn’t it better when a band is growing up and defining his own sound. I think Kanami is looking for the future of music without forgetting the past. And I like her new guitar sound, I like musicians searching for new sounds. That’s why my guitar heroes are Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Tom Morello, Dimbag Darrell…

I do think they have a somewhat more commercial sound now as far as the production goes, but I am not sure if it's an intentional push by Pony Canyon (because their sound changed quite a bit since they are on that label) or just them going this route organically. I do think they use J-Pop influences here and there, but they have in the past and I don't think it's that much more pronounced. They do use more hip-hop/new R&B influences for sure, but not so much that it bothers me, even though I would prefer them playing their instruments behind it instead of a produced beat. Unseen World is still my favourite album of theirs and that already had this type of sound, so I am not necessarily complaining and I think artists can do whatever they want with their music anyway. That said, I do find myself getting somewhat bored with Kanami's use of her harmonizer pedals. So while I am ok with that sound, I am not sure if I want it on most songs. I do still enjoy the new EP a lot, but I know there are fans who really don't care for that sound so throwing in a bluesy rock track might have been a good idea (but I love bluesy rock, manners is probably my favourite Band-Maid track). I would prefer them using a little less cleaned up production myself, but that's personaly preference and I have noticed that most Japanese bands have the same type of production on their latest albums, so I guess it's a trend in that industry (unfortunately imo, but what can you do). I just personally prefer a little rawness/small mistakes and humanity in my rock and metal music instead of overly cleaned up robotic "perfection". Band-Maid are not that bad with that stuff all-in-all, but I have a feeling they are skirting more towards that realm using way more backing track and effects and things like that. They do start to sound a little overproduced here and there for my personal taste. But we will see what the future brings. I don't see myself completely disliking what they do any time soon, so bring on the next album.

@@MaartenT you’re right about the production, especially on the vocals side. I think they’re trying to add more things vocally and the production is going towards that. The heaviness of the guitars is a little bit buried in the background but I think the live versions will show the full potential of the songs. When I watched the recent live version of “Unleash!!!!!” on KZread from their recent pre US tour, the song was really heavy, a lot heavier than the studio version. “Manner” is one of my least favorite from Unseen World. I think the song would have perfectly fit in CONQUEROR album (on the other side, the lyrics fit perfectly). “GIOVANNI”, “BLACK HOLE” or “H-G-K” are more my jam on this album. I think Kanami is only using her new effect sound on “Corallium”, “SENSE”, “from now on”, “BALANCE”, “Unleash!!!!!” and “Influencer”. That’s not that much. And she’s using it with parcimony on some songs.

@@2abug The weird thing is that I am not a huge fan of the Conqueror album in general although it has grown on me and it has a couple of great tracks (Rinne and Wonderland are high up my list as far as Band-Maid tracks go). I also like Black Hole and Giovanni and H-G-K to some extend (it has some great parts). There aren't a lot of tracks on Unseen World that I don't at least like in some regard and I really like most of them. Most of the other albums have tracks I don't really care for, but Unseen World only has a couple that I'm just ok with. I would probably put No God and Warning over the 3 you named, but I really like those 3 as well. I actually think she is using this type of harmonizer for a while now. On Screaming (which I love), the Different single, and then on some tracks on Unseen World and at least some tracks on all releases after that (with the exception of about Us and the acoustic Okyu-ji I guess). I do think she dialed up the effect over time though, so it sounds more prevalent on newer releases. Also, you are naming 6 out of 8 tracks of the EP :). Funnily enough HATE? and I'll are probably my favourites on this EP and these are the 2 you didn't name. Influencer is probably my least favourite on the EP, but it has grown on me (and I love the solos in that track).

Hells yes, Corallium! I'm so happy you liked it so much. It's easily one of my favorite songs of B-M ever since I heard it on the Sense EP. The last song you'll be listening to, I'll, has really grown on me. Looking forward to what you think of it (I'm sure you'll love it, it's B-M lol).

When this song first came out it didn't hit me right away because it had the element that reminded me of Namie Amuro, Saiki's idol, and that's what Saiki wanted anyway. With Kanami using that ethnic/oriental kind of riffs again with Saiki's rapping or is it hip hop mixed with rnb it has become one of my favourites over time.

I really like this song, but I already liked it from the ep containing "Sense", "Hibana" and "Corallium"! I was a little disappointed "Hibana" was not included on this "album", as I like it a tiny bit more than "Corallium"! Like that it is Saiki's first song she wrote the lyrics for, it seems to fit her vocal style very well, and that the band embraced it. Akane is on fire, again!

Really? Ive heard nobody rate this song anything but great! But maybe some are putting it at the bottom because its not a new song? Its on the sense EP so we have all heard it tons, so obviously its not particularly exciting to get it on this album again.
