Thanks for the reaction. I concur with your comment 100% that they should be significantly more popular around the globe and that they don't get the recognition that they deserve. Clang is another banger. It's no surprise considering it's Band-Maid. These ladies are arguably the best live rock band on the planet and IMHO God's gift to humanity. Cheers!

With songs like Clang, why Band-Maid isn't the favorite band of all hard rockers worldwide is a mystery to me. CLANG 🔔💥🔨 It's a hit! Thx, Tim!

They played in Nashville in May of 2023 and it was a fantastic show. Same weekend that Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks played at the Titans' stadium.

They played it at the only concert of them I've been able to attend, five years ago. With a special dual-tapping intro bass & guitar! I miss them.

Yep great song! I was really happy to witness them play this old classic live last October in Sendai, Japan (right after "Moratorium" too)! Hope you get to see them soon Tim!

I hadn't been to a live event in over 25 years, due to physically not being able to do so, last year I found out that in a few months from my hearing about it, Band Maid was basically coming to my City, I bought my tickets on line, first time for that, I got in line #5 at 5:00 am, I sat on a bucket that I brought with water bottles in it, and made it in to see them up close, best and most painful concert experience of my 63 years, and I'd do it every week if it was possible, when they hit, it break's your entire soul, I truly hope that I get to see them again, they single handedly renewed my love of music.

It's not so much Kanami's fingers, although they rank among the best. It's her mind -- the creative riff production and solos made to completely service the (her) songs. Here's my list for best progressive hard rock composer of the past 10 years. #1 - Kanami Tono. (Tono means "lord" or "master." - Wikipedia)

Tim (and Bruno) thanks for reacting to "Clang". It's such a hidden gem in their discography. Tim, I agree with you 100% about the recognition that Kanami deserves. I think that lack of recognition is because of the xenophobic fear from western bands and their record companies. If people our age(s) start loving bands like Band-Maid from the far East better than their bands, there go the audiences and their profits. The bottom line is the Asian bands are starting to get recognition and larger followings and eventually the record labels no longer dominate radio air-play, venue bookings, and record and merch sales.

My opinion is there is a lot of truth in what you say. (I was in music management and a tour manager for some years - a long time ago). The Japanese music industry is the second biggest in the world - money wise. By totally ignoring it/not promoting foreign and especially Japanese bands the US/Western "closed" music industry protect their profits. Some claim it's the language barrier - rightly or wrongly. The reverse is Western bands can be and are huge in Japan - despite the language barrier - the Western industry can make profit there. The killer of this closed mindset is global communication - the internet/KZread etc. I'm sure as more and more music lovers in the West discover music from other places - and especially Japan - the Western music industry (including radio stations) mindset will have to change, or they die. The word is out.

Saw them in 2019 playing this live in a small room. Check raw footage fancam (V.Chupin) of Hamburg 2019 and feel the heat, from the room (near 40C) and from the band. They played in Paris and London in the same hot weather week. kzread.info/dash/bejne/q4t716SRZ9SWkaQ.htmlsi=00zipTMi7eIJlID9

I'm always shocked by the number of mediocre female blues/rock guitarists with not many clothes on, that get lots of promotion in the US. I always check them out, but they only a bit better than me and I'm rubbish. They only seem to do covers and produce albums with lot of guest stars to help promote them. Classic Rock magazine is one of the main culprits of this. I get the mag on order so I know.
