Yes, the members of Band-Maid are all "besties" with each other. After spending 10 years on a tour bus so close together they know each other so well. (A little story about how close they are.) When Akane's grandmother was in hospice before she died, the Maids went to her room to perform for her and make her feel better. After Akane's grandmother passed away, the band performed at her funeral. I'm pretty sure they did not perform any of their hard rock music but the appropriate music for a person in a hospice and at the funeral expressing their love.

ETA: Ummmm I think OP might be misremembering something and wishfully exaggerating it. If ypu remember the whole urban myth about the story behind Phil Collins' In the Air Tonight," Band-Maid as a BAND vs. just one song hits that "I identify with this" button and then some people turn it into what works for them. And lyrics can mean whatever they mean to the listener...it's just not necessarily what the writer meant 😊

This song was a collab between the Band Maid ladies and Mike Einziger of incubus fame. I think it shows both influences.

MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! And Miku’s English lyrics are heartfelt. I've seen Band-Maid four times twice in 2022 and twice in 2023 =) The DC Show was sold out and so was the Underground in Charlotte NC ! I wanted to go to the Atlanta show but it was sold out as well ! Band-Maid is getting attention in the US and their killing it on KZread ! I liked the intimacy of the 700 seat The Underground over the 2000 seat Silver Spring Filmore, but I wish I had brought some concert earplugs. The drums were so LOUD.
