Hi there! It's hard to say for sure because I don't know your specific situation. But in general, you may have lost points in the writing section because you may not have elaborated on the topic. In the Speaking section, scores could be lowered for lacking detail (especially in the third task) and you may not have sounded natural. In general, there are many factors that can affect your score. The Hudsons have accumulated a great fortune over the years. "Hudsons" is it used as a noun? If it's not then what's it mean?

In this example, Hudsons is a surname. So we use the article "the". Another example: "the Smiths".
