It's also a thing over here in Brazil, but generally we don't add sauce and instead do a sweet pizza

as a swede, i can confirm, but there is also one with extra toppings, such as one with the standard sauce and cheese, with shredded ham, banana, pineapple, peanuts and either curry spice or curry sauce. based on wich pizza joint you order from xD

I was visiting my Swedish family over the summer and they had me try banana chicken curry pizza- not bad. In Sweden it is also a bit difficult to find normal dill pickles, because most of their pickles are sweet.

It looks pretty delicious, but imo Curry sauce + chicken + pineapple is a better fruity combination. It feels lighter than tomato salami pizza, and the problem with banana is that it's such a doughy knitty fruit with the right sweetness but weird consistency, pineapple's sweetness works better with curry sauce

This makes pineapple pizza look not like a sin

This makes me happy.

Bro fuck the curry powder, but here in South Africa you regularly find bacon and banana as a pizza combo. Just plain with bacon and banana. It's DELICIOUS. But the ultimate banana pizza imo is, bacon + banana + feta cheese + avocado. The bacon offers that fatty salty flavour, the banana offers a sort of soft creamy sweet flavour that melts into the cheese, the feta cheese amps up the saltiness and adds a bit of a texture difference, and the avocado acts a neutralizer for all of the strong flavours in there. It's seriously fucking fantastic. Usually it's called a "Californian".

As someone raised in california, that's not a thing in california. Also as someone raised in california: That sounds fucking fantastic. THe savory bacon and unctuous avocado would provide the meaty fatty goodness, the banana would be sweet and the feta cheese would bring it all home with creamy and salty. Just sounds wonderful.

given my culture's appreciation for plantains and ham and distaste for eating healthy, I'm surprised this isn't also a Cuban thing- tho that could be due to the bananas not being caramelized. I'd also say it's not a thing due to sanity, but I live in Miami and sanity is a myth in Florida.
