Ash had to suffer so much. It hurts so much. When eiji and ash gets to develop their friendship legit in less than 5 minutes someone has to come in with a gun and interrupt them. The part where eiji keeps telling him ash could come to japan so he doesnt have to have a gun to protect himself made me devastated. When ash keeps saying they are from different worlds aHHHHH.

The only good thing is that Ash is alive. And the people who created the anime actually made Ash and Eiji live together in Japan, it’s on the website btw, but they have a small café together.

Ash's backstory makes me sick. Makes me cry sometimes. He's not real but why do I feel so empathetic towards this character? He's so well written. His backstory is sadly realistic. He deserved more. Way more. All his fears. Him wanting eiji to stay by his side. It broke me. Whenever I thinking about this character... All I feel is guilt of living a comfortable life and pity towards him. All the scenes, the one in the first two episodes where they showed his cp videos to make him confess if he killed Marvin or not. Funniest thing being Marvin was a p3do who r**ed ash as a young child. But instead of arresting him they arrest ash for "killing" him. And make him look at his own cp leaked videos. Ridiculing him for being a victim. It made me absolutely sick. The face that he still fears about being touched. And doesn't let anyone touch him except eiji makes me so sad. The fact that he had to let his dignity down to protect himself. The fact that his "father" sold his own son to siem coach. Is so sick. This anime is so beautiful yet so disgusting. The saddest thing isn't ash passing away. It's ash suffering and going through inhumane treatment.

His father did that to protect ash actually. When ash came home all bruised his father took him to the police to register the case but the police didn't believe his father and in the end they said if it couldn't have been him who did that. So his father told ash to take money from the guy because then at least he wouldn't be killed. When the case came to light, they discovered that there were several bones of children in the guy's house but he just didn't kill ash because as he was making money, the guy thought he wouldn't tell anyone. And his father was going to send ash to a relative's house but before that ash ended up running away from home. I don't think it was the best thing his father could have done but he did it to protect ash from be killed, and even though ash has a deep grudge for his father, he knows it was for his own good that's why he was sad when his father died.

I've loved this story since 1998 when I first read it. Seeing it in anime form was quite devastating all over again. I still think the ending is beautiful and exactly what Ash wanted, whether we agree with it or not.

one of the best anime in history forever

I feel like the biggest reason Ive cried for hours because of this anime is that Ash went through so much and the time that he could get away from violence and spend time with Eiji, he gets stabbed and lets himself die peacefully in the library. I’ve never cried this much especially during an anime or a song, a true masterpiece right here.

Ash means so much for me even tho he is just a cartoon character. I've been through so much similar to Ash SA, traumas, PTSD and when I decided to give up this anime came across me. I said why not give it a try I'll die soon anyway. Ash saved me he became an idol of me. I said I'm not giving up yet I'll be strong and smart like Ash and help children gone through hell like us. I never had any anime character to relate so much. Which is sad actually to relate to Ash lol..

Just when I thought I was over this anime, but whenever I come across some random clips or videos like this, I lose it 😭...I cannot explain how perfect this anime is. The story, the soundtrack, the animation, the voice actors, everything... This anime gives off this certain vibe that creates a nostalgic and sad atmosphere throughout the series...the songs being played in the background. The way their eyes were drawn, so expressively and beautifully, the pacing and visuals, I dont know man. This is the perfect anime for me

That feeling when you feel a lot of sadness and pain because you understand and feel what the character was feeling, you feel their emotions to the point of crying because you feel them. This... It hurts. The feeling and tears because you feel empathy for the character wondering, "if only I can hug them..."

In general, this song is sung about the ending of the anime, and the ending should also be shown. But the feelings you perfectly showed I already burst into tears.

When I see clips of this show, and it’s so bittersweet for me. I worked hard to get a Lovebird, and I named him Eiji after the boy who could fly. He was the perfect companion. Especially through heavy pains others inflicted onto me. Unfortunately my bird had lung issues that couldn’t be helped despite my best effort… I miss him, and it’s like seeing him again. 💛
