First new Guide Rail of the year, we're going down by the docks on the Bristol Harbour Railway, a very unique package of several elements of harbour life preserved working together from the age of industrial steam. Check out Bristol Museum's M Shed for yourself: www.bristolmuseums.org.uk/m-s...

As a local resident I enjoyed this video, the history of the Bristol Harbour Railway can be found in smatterings but rarely is it consolidated into one place like this. Even the M Shed doesn't outline its history so succinctly. Great job!
0:54 an alternate history where the GWR had some sort of trackage in the US via shipping would be interesting. It'd be cool to see someone do a model RR set in the late 19th century where that happened. The equipment could be NA standard but with "quirks" of thr GWR (Belpaire fireboxes, green boilers, etc)
I do love myself a bit of Guide Rail.
The descriptions of this railway sound like a steam dream.
Amazing guide rail 55🚂

Great video mate. I'm Bristolian and have been riding the trains at the harbour since I was a child.

This is a Good one.👍
3:43 Oh hey, Alfred and Judy! AKA the IRL Bill & Ben.
I used I.W&D Portbury as the basis for my Thomas OC!
4:58 Fun note: Looks like you caught John King out when she was being used as the setting for the music video of "Mary Ellen Carter" by The Longest Johns, a fantastic Bristol-based shanty band.
always wanted the railways that worked alongside the canals back.
I’m not gonna see this on live :( well I hope you guys have a fun live stream
2:05 ha ha you said funny word
At my local heritage railway we have been restoring the western fuels diesel shunter. Nearly finished cosmetically into the PBA blue although missing the skirts. Currently awaiting a clutch repair

Brilliant gude rail video, I've heard about the Bristol harbour railway and would love to visit it. :)
0:48 Is that why the great western railway of Colorado existed?
Welcome to Tugs
The most interesting thing that I've seen was the unusual looking rail seen at 3:01 and 3:14.
