Juvenile flying-foxes really do it tough as it takes time to learn your street smarts and how to stay out of trouble.
Miss Hope is only 13 weeks old and as best we can tell, she was in a nearby shrub when she got a fright and flew straight into the door of a parked car containing two people.
Fortunately help was sought and Louella was able to rescue Miss Hope who had previously been attacked by a predator which produced three badly infected wounds which are now being successfully treated.
Better luck out there for Miss Hope when she is fully recovered and is able to go home to the wild.

Bat cheeks full of banana never fail to lighten up a tiring and cruddy day
I can’t believe that an animal that used to bring me so much fear can make me smile every time I see one happily eating banana. I’m so glad I’ve come across this channel. The caregiver and her bats make me smile on days where I haven’t been able to find much else to smile about. Thank you!!

Bats are very undervalued in Australia. It’s heartwarming to know that someone is looking after the orphaned and sick. They are sweet little creatures and a baby with cheeks stuffed with bananas is adorable.
