That would have been "too graphic" for kids to see!
Ronno changed from a childhood bully in the midquel into a dark monster in the first film, and that monstrous look on his face scared the Hell out of me the first time I saw it! He thought he could STILL beat Bambi as an adult, but he was neither smart nor trained! Despite Ronno knocking Bambi down several times, Bambi was STILL able to pummel him, like he did when they were kids!

Bambi was losing until 1:03 and then winning after that.

Ronno took Bambi and Faline by surprise, so Bambi wasn't automatically prepared to fight him! That's how Ronno knocked Bambi down several times before he got pummeled!
