Baltimore bridge collapse: Two bodies recovered
Divers have recovered the remains of two of the six workers missing since they were tossed into Baltimore harbour from a highway bridge that collapsed into shipping lanes when a faltering cargo freighter rammed into the structure.
The cargo was carrying hundreds of tons of hazardous materials, including corrosive and flammable chemicals.
The first realisation that something was wrong came three minutes before the crash. Marcel Muise, an investigator with the NTSB, said that the crew called for tugs to help it navigate away from port at 1.26am. Police monitoring the bridge received a mayday call telling them that the Singapore-flagged vessel had lost power in the Patapsco river and was drifting towards the bridge. By 1.29am the bridge had collapsed.

What the hell happened? How could this possibly happen? Who was driving the ship? If they weren’t having some kind of medical emergency and were incapacitated for a significant amount of time that led to this then they deserve to be in prison for the rest of their life.

They lost all power to the ship. You see all the lights cut out. Some came back so they obviously tried to switch to a backup generator or something and it was already too late. They slammed the engines in reverse hence why at the last moment the front of the ship dives to the side as the back pulled it round but they were already too close

@@mrsinghsstereos6662 you know that a ship "drives" on like a car when you dont push the brake. The ship weighs more than 200 million pounds, it probably doesnt stop for 10 miles
