The Baltic Way in 1989 as part of the Singing Revolution from 1987-1991 led to the collapse of communism and the Dissolution of the Soviet Union on December Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26, 1991 starting with the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 11, 1989 in East Berlin in East Germany and its eventual reunification on October 3, 1990 continuing through the end of communism in Eastern European and Balkan Peninsula countries like Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania and Czechoslovakia (which would later peacefully dissolved and split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia on January 1, 1993) and ending with the Soviet Union being declared formally dissolved into 15 distinct independent republics one day after Christmas Day after Russia (now Russian Federation) and Kazakhstan ended up becoming the last 2 countries in Europe and Asia to declare nationwide sovereignty independence from the Soviet Union towards the end of 1991 in its world history and in general.
