I love that jay notices immediately something is seriously wrong with Ben brother bond they have .....x x 💓💛💙

I think this storyline is going to be a real emotional rollercoaster but no doubt Max will knock out of the park. Can they please get Callum back tomorrow? I can’t wait till Thursday/Friday

Poor Ben! 😭😭😭😭 Jay is such a good and understanding and supportive friend, he is paying attention to details, that’s why he’s the only one finding out Ben’s hearing loss, even Lola and others have no idea!! Every one needs a jay in their life!!🤗🤗🤗

The sound mix was very well done here it gives a good impression of what hearing impairment is like most of it follows this clip when Stuart arrives

Ben looked so broken. So glad he and Callum are safe now

So I reckon they’ll get the police involved tomorrow properly and then they’ll say they can’t find him. Then in Thursdays ep Stuart, Ben and jay go looking for callum and in Friday’s they finally do 🙏🏼

Yeah I saw he would become deaf, a girl is going to help him out, communicating through sign language. Poor Ben.

I wonder if it's going to be permanent or temporary. I cannot see them carrying on this storyline for a long time because Max can hear and all the actors would have to learn and become fluent in sign language.

Ben was born partially deaf, so his deafness is respecting the history of the character.

​@@ginaf4085 Why? He can lip read and speak so only a couple of characters would likely learn sign language. I imagine the world would be a kinder place to deaf people if everyone in their circle (friends, family and work) went out of their way to learn sign language but it doesn't happen.

That message in today episode “I need you” to Callum it shows that he really misses Callum but also he is worried and concerned over his hearing but he doesn’t show it I can’t wait for them just to be happy and settled down

It's been confirmed that he goes deaf, after the accident, he struggles to cope but a girl called Frankie(deaf in real life) helps him out, communicating through sign language.

It was only right it was jay who knew something was up with ben.

People need to get out of Ben's face he can't hear and his boyfriend has been kidnapped and now he's missing and could be dying for all Ben knows so excuse him for having other things on his mind

You can clearly see that something wasn't right with Ben and Lola want to have a go at him, just made me a little bit mad. Also love what EastEnders is doing with the sound for Ben's hearing and showing his point of view of it.

I think what it was Lola thought he was disregarding his daughter to look for his boyfriend, which I can understand why she'd be irritated by that. She had no idea he was involved with the boat accident.

He’ll hear his voice again, but distorted. It’s confirmed he will be permanently hearing impaired, but he will learn sign language and get stronger at lip reading, getting help from a character who’s actor is deaf irl.

I missed something, did Ben tell Jay he hit his head? Ben should seriously be in the hospital, he's weak and injured and in no shape to find Callum.

@PentaholicSPN FAMILYPotter Head no sorry to burst your buble, this is permanent, it's been confirmed he gets additional hearing loss, more deaf. Frankie(deaf in real life too) will help Ben out as hes struggles to cope, she's going to communicate through sign language . They are working with a charity for this storyline. This is not temporary.

Where is Phil? Does he even know Ben got rescued out of the water?

He was partially deaf in one ear since childhood but his hearing aid helped. The head injury has caused further hearing loss in his good ear.

Partially deaf, that is. Not whole deaf, but hearing impaired. He’ll be learning sign language. And he’ll still be able to hear Callum’s and Lexie’s voices, just blurry.

Soulless Husk he doesn’t act like he does at all. Curious. I kinda think he’s not aware cause he was so out of it on the dock. Also he hasn’t said anything about it. He’s still acting like nothing has happened (besides his hearing being messed up) and he’s just back to searching for Callum like he was pre boat.

Grateful for the uploads but is it absolutely necessary to have each and every title to these clips be a pure spoiler? Some surprise would be nice.

Seems Ben already got his comeuppance for all the stuff he got involved in, with Phil and Keanu. After he hopefully gets Callum back, he needs to do some serious self-reflection.

Try being someone with acute hearing loss. The point of the audio change was to show viewers what sudden hearing loss is like from the point of view of the person suffering from it.
