Now for Messi, most assists in 2021, more chances created than Lewa, more big chances creates than lewa, more points won than Lewa, performed better internationally than lewa, 4x more dribbles completed than Lewa, more passes completed than Lewa, more man of the match awards than lewa, more progressive with his play, more individual awards than lewa. I wish the ballon d'or ranking was purely down to G/A. Messi would have won it 9 times already then. Unfortunately, International games have a massive part to play in it, along with the ucl. Messi's international run, along with him being superior in every category other than scoring will mean he'll likely win it.

@Divenaldo Penaldo they do, but messi's won more points/matches for his team, and the unfortunately, goals aren't enough to win the ballon d'or. Messi knows that better than anyone else.

Like I also said, if it was just down to g/a, Messi would have won if 9+ times already. How many man of the matches, points won, dribbles completed, big chances and chances created did sanchez have in that same season?

Not the first time Puskas award has been won by someone not deserving it. Some Puskas winners are from obscure league with less pressure, worse defense and smaller stake, therefore had more chance for showboating. It is a subjective award.
