I remember when I was young, I used to stay with my Aunt & Uncle in Maine. They had a small farm. I loved hay season, it was a lot of work but I loved working with the tractors and the bailers. And bucking those bails what a work-out. They too had their share of mechanical problems. But always got the hay in. Plus I loved my Aunt & Uncle. Hard word, but I made me feel good.

I have the same memories with my Pap. My husband would love to sell all the equipment and just buy hay, but I want to do those memories justice, they’re special for sure.

So happy to see you were able to get your hay done. Sorry about your tractor I hope the issue is easily resolved. Love the Farmall, your son did a great job, tractor looks great!

I pulled a Hayliner 268 for years. Every winter we would go through it. It was low and flat across the top. It was easy to see over with the Ford Dexta I pulled it with. Like we put up thousands of bales every summer.

I think the hayliners are just the best little balers. And they definitely evoke fond memories from all who have used them. The super 66 is another story lol.

Just subscribed. We decades ago had a 46T international and it was trouble some. Then we got a worn out New holland 269 and it worked better. We still have it. Then we scored a really good new holland 273 and it bails perfectly using plastic twine. Once I was bailing with a WD allis. Blew up the PTO gears and had to bale the remainder with a Super C Farmall. Same thing as with your H it had a difficult time with thick windrows. We have a H and several other letter Farmalls. We also have a junked bailer the same model as yours. Parts are available from it. If you want we could do a video of that junk bailer.

Thank you! We used an International 47 Demonstrator to vet the summer and it worked great! I had hopes that the 440 would be as nice. The letter series tractors really are just the best. Sure they’re aren’t as expensive powerful as more modern tractors, but man they’re reliable. I’d love to see your 440! Tag me if you do a video.

Nice job and good lookimg hay., just push the shifter into neutral instead of pushing the clutch in if you get big bunches with the H and let the pto keep going. Much harder on it and the clutch to push the ram when the chamber is full of hay starting from dead stopped.
