We rented the only villa in Buitan, about 5 Km south of Candi Dasa, for a year in 2002 - 2003 and Candi Dasa was "the Big City" for us at that time. I wouldn't recognize it from your video because of the tremendous growth since then. Wow!

Wow I'm sure alot had changed, I'm sure back then you would be the odd ones out in a non tourist area. Candidasa has definitely grown but still has a very relaxed vibe compared down in the real tourist areas, Thanks for sharing and we will be sure to check out Buitan on google maps or when we are in Bali. At the beginning of this video, Bec said "if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta, this is the place to come". For me though, it's the hustle and bustle that lures me to Bali. I live on a farm near a small town - believe me, there's no hustle and bustle in Holbrook. I live in peace and quiet for fifty weeks a year, so really look forward to Kuta's vibrant nightlife. However I can understand someone who lives in a large city wanting to experience somewhere peaceful.

Agree 100% James, For us we are same we enjoy Kuta but some people think Bali is all like that and we show the other side of Bali. Somewhere bit different for people. Thanks for feedback.

Great video guys. We are thinking of Candidasa for 5 nights in October as a part of our 18 night stay in Bali. Just wondering where did you stay when you were here? And did you hire the bike once you got there? Or did you ride there yourselves? We are thinking of getting transport up to Candidasa from Kuta with our regular guy and make a full day trip with him finishing up there.

G'day John and Jamie, What you have written is perfect and exactly what we did. We stayed at Segara hotel (video on that) in Candidasa , Loved it but not super cheap about $90 - $95 Aud a night but alot of options in Candidasa. Yes we just hired a bike once here , we went for 3 nights 4 days and 5 days is lovely if you plan to R & R, We had our driver take us up there and just got our bike once we arrrived. Yes getting a driver and making it as day of it coming up here exactly what we did , Make a day of it and getting to your destination. I think you have it down pat. We loved it and plan to go back. Be sure to check our Candidasa food videos for ideas where to eat as well. Be sure to report back once you have done the trip and let us know what you loved and what you didn't. I will 😊 we stayed at Lotus Bungalow last May and we really enjoyed it, fantastic service, awesome pool area, beautiful grounds, the restaurant was very nice and had a great view. Food was a little hit and miss but the pizzas were yummy. Would definitely stay again but we want to try other places aswell. Spoilt for choice in Candidasa.

I would say about 10am , we stayed to about 2pm. Really loved it. About 20 minsnorth of Candidasa but from Candidasa you will find transport easy. Thanks for feedback.

Great Video any accommodation recommendations for Virgin beach ?

Hi Neil, Thanks for lovely comment. Regarding accommodation , we stayed in Candidasa and just travelled to virgin Beach. Not sure if there close accommodation to virgin beach but would recommend staying in Candiasa and just travel up, as there is plenty of hotels,food and transport in Candidasa. We stayed at Sagara hotel for a bit of luxury as it was our special time away. Video on that. Thats our recommendation but its always upto you, but there plenty of accommodation in Candidasa and heaps of food choice. We have a food video coming out today , stay tuned. Thanks for feedback.

Any recommendations for bike hire? Thanks to your videos we are staying at Segara! Or can we just use local transport to get around like to get to Virgin Beach?

Just down from Sagara is no problem transport, We hired a bike there , was good bike about $10 AUD a day, Recommend a bike if you can in Candidasa gives you so much freedom. Bike was like a 150cc scooter x tourer. Was very happy , Make sure the bike has phone holder, helps alot getting around esp using google maps. Use a driver if you do a big trip but trips like virgin beach and surrounds go a bike if you can, Bike gives you freedom to when you want to stop and what you want to see. Hope this helps

We only ever dealt with them once, but was easy friendly and no hassles, and just about 200m down the road on same side of sagara hotel. Have a great trip, be sure to report back And give us your review on your trip.

We have thought about doing other platforms, We both work full time and at the moment we not able to give other platforms the time we should. So for the moment we just run KZread, But stay tuned , It might change one day. Thanks for feedback.
