This type of repair would land you in jail here. This was definitely not the proper way to repair this vehicle. Even in the video I could see that the color didn’t match. That was the least of the problems with this repair.

@@user-0ilze3zjfz I live in the state of Wisconsin, where we have a law that states that any vehicle involved in a collision can only be repaired up to 70% of it’s retail value. This law applies to current model year vehicles and vehicles up to 7 model years old. So, any vehicle 2015 or newer. If the vehicle repair cost goes over that amount (not including tax and towing), the vehicle title is surrendered to the state and a new branded title is issued stating that this vehicle is repaired salvage. We call it a salvage title. The vehicle must be inspected by the state highway patrol to ensure it’s safety before it can be operated on the road. The retail value of any vehicle is approximately 1/3 less due to the salvage title. This salvage branding follows the vehicle for the rest of it’s life and does follow it even if it is registered in a different state. Wisconsin is adjacent to Illinois. They have a similar law, but in Illinois the vehicle can repaired up to 100% of it’s value. Since 90% of vehicle repairs are paid for by insurance companies, they don’t want the liability that comes with salvage vehicles. They owe either the cost of repairs or the retail value of the vehicle, whichever is less. I remember seeing vehicles totaled out that were $2,500 away from being an official total loss, simply because you never know what additional (supplemental) items could be found during the course of repairs. If you go to our neighbouring countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan it's worst, economically we are not rich and that's why we depend on scrap, but our politicians live a rich life

1:15 why don't heat up the bent area, use a chain block/hoist to pull and straighten the frame instead of beating without heating up? Will aggressive beating like this affect some critical dimensions related to the frame? Weld some plates on bent area is much stronger than cutting and welding a new cut part on. Positioning accuracy is also an issue by the way the new part was torch cut and weld-joined.

Exactly. They should have gone with straightening and strengthening the existing structure rather than frankenstining with two pieces that are never going to provide any significant support (compared to original).

@@mtay65 it is ensured by the positioning of the headlamps, bonnet, fender and the bumper. That step isn't shown in the video since it's a highlight of probably 15 days process. Before the vehicle is sent to the painting booth or even before the grinding process the denter checks the panel alignment. Also the manufacturer has a book regarding the guidelines and measurements and tolerance for each and every work which again is not shown in the video (there's no point in showing so). And regarding the cutting welding of the apron, it stretches out upto the bottom of the car and inorder to replace the whole section, the whole dashboard, firewall,etc has to be removed and which is only done under extreme loss scenarios. Regarding the strength, it makes less difference since it's properly welded and it won't just snap off incase of an collision. Also it's a repair work so don't expect factory level finishes. Concern is the welding done since this not encouraged by the manufacturer, everyone does it as it's much more easier and less time consuming. Downside being if not properly sealed and primered, it will start rusting. That's a huge concern.

Can you trust the welding done locally to take another accident? Will it stand the time? By default BALENO is not a strong build car when it comes to accident handling. All credit to the work done by shop to make it look as original as possible.

end result is good....but why did he cut chasis part and get it welded....I suppose he should have used entire new fresh part and not cut and get it welded......as that welded joint is not safe on both sides....for chasis...usually engine foundation rests there....in long run that joint will be a failure

It is mostly welded because if it goes for sale no one can find that this car has been in an accident. And the weldings are equally strong as normal.

@@lordpixie8722 so basically you are cheating the buyer....better to change entire chasis and get new chasis no...embossed from RTO...other than cheating buyer by welding cut portion of chasis...as welded joints on chasis is always week as compared to new chasis

Very nice work and super talented. But is it still safe anymore? The main chassis is cut and welded. Will it have same strength again in case of another accident? Something to think about. This vehicle would mostly be written off as total loss in other countries because of the structural damage.

this is not a write off in any country . the core supports are not broken, aka structural damage its a front end collision which has broken the crumple zone.

Welding joint is ok, but he did gas welding and no testing of the weld....also why to cut the joint form the new part.....why not replace the whole part.....

It says a complete repair and the character in the "work suit" cuts the part with a burner that needs to be precisely cut, without showing the gap measurement, fixes the new bonnet and fender paint over the old paint ... I hope it's not authorized service.

very good job..

I think the gas welding used to cut the piece and weld it together to frame is wrong here. spot weld is recommended. this gas welding is not for this purpose, these joints are going to break easily in any future accident, which makes this car very less safe.

Spot welding is not used in such cases.....welding is ok if he would have repaired the old.....but cutting form new and then welding it... Also metal plate used in Maruti type cars are thin so electric welding is not possible....

Baleno has made the local workshops so happy and full of work or u can say Maruti 🤣🤣 simple denting painting work in other brand cars but for Maruti it’s involves engine removing and I think that’s part of chassis thts being welded not sure...now no scope of repair direct part change🤣🤣

@@AutomobileService lekin bhai company ki khud ki bhi responsibility honi chahiye apne customers ki safety ko leke....ab har koi maruti ki beizzati kar raha hai uski built ke wajah se....to maruti ko bhi is chiz pe dhyan dena chahiye
