You might want to consider a bale unroller it would spread out your left over hay. Not sure how many head you have. Overall looks good.

One of the benefits of bale grazing is to not have to have any equipment on this rented farm. But I do agree things get spread out better with unrolling.

How many acres is your farm? How many cows per acre? What type of cattle? Are there different types of Fescue to plant for cattle? What types of concerns are there to have cattle grazing for days without checking on them? I would like to start a herd in the future.

This farm is about 80 acres. The field we bale graze this year is around 15 acres. We usually have around 25 to 30 cow calf pairs during the growing season but usually around 25 dry cows in the winter. Usually feed about 60 rolls over winter while bale grazing. Cows weigh around 1000 lbs. In my experience in this part of Kentucky you can run about 500lbs per acre and not have to feed much hay. That would mean 3 acres per cow with calf on side that weighed 500 lbs. this can vary a lot depending on your location.
