No. I dream of him every day.sometimes i remember his death and my tears flow...

Just look at his eyes, he was in a lot of pain, yet he took his fate with so much grace and fulfilled his destiny as a great king. He lived his life through despiar but still remained humble to "meaning". He was a good man and his heart sought for the good beyond this realm as he had almost no pleasure here on Earth.

Edward Norton is an awesome actor, sadly underated. He made Baldwin IV more epic than he already was as a historical figure 🙏🏻✝

King Baldwin IV was a honorable,great tactician,humane & noble king. That even his enemy, honored & respected him.

This guy showed who’s boss just by moving his head and the way he talks. Bossy

Edward Norton in that movie proved that the great performance doesn't need a big role ! He only appeared 17 minutes in the movie and stole the whole show !

The respect shown by two great kings to each other - Baldwin IV and Saladin..two men completely secure in their power and their faith - makes you realise how lacking in the same leaders of today are. How humanity could have been saved if we had leaders like these two

Nobody can know how it really was, but I feel that this movie was by far the best depiction of how life of the Crusaders, the Christians and other people in that area was back then. I felt totally immersed. Such amazing costumes and sets. Also, the chivalry was presented so well. Great movie, great history drama. btw, that's a whole lot of flags right there

@@ecozones2d627 You are right. Canonization is a process that RECOGNIZES someone as a saint. That does not MAKE a saint. Most saints have never been canonized simply because the Church does not know they are saints. It does not change the fact they are saints and they are celebrated alongside other saints on the Catholic feast of All Saints' Day. Is Baldwin a saint? I am pretty sure he is but, to formally identify him as a saint, it is necessary to have at least two miracles performed because of his intercession. Saint Louis, the king of France, was canonized because sick and invalid people were miraculously healed when they approached his body. I don't know if such miracles occurred with Baldwin.

Kingdom of Heaven(2005) was a great movie overall albeit having some historical inaccuracies. Some great performances by the actors.Beautiful movie.The 2 main charactors of Orlando Bloom as Balian of Ibelin & Eva Green as Sibylla of Jerusalem was great and verymuch entertaining to watch.Eva Green was stunning as Sibylla & her acting was great.However Edward Nortons Acting as King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem is on another level!Especially wearing the facemask on the whole movie(It was more likely that the leper king in actuality did not were a facemask according to historical sorces!).The voice,vocals as King Balwin IV,gestures,head movements,etc...was great Overall great performance!

I was born in christian family too, and I respect Saladin, great king, and i admire him for letting christian go even though fanatic christian (templars) slaughter many Muslims inside Jerusalem. Two king pioneer of modern morality that you shouldn't harm those enemy who are already yielding or give up.

He is a good king

I watched the film just a week ago and I did not know then who was playing the King when I watched it. Strange feeling remained after. I was somewhat amazed that playing a masked pesron the actor still did perform so good. And I was intrigued what exactly caused my attention to his acting and then I realised it was simply how he moved his head. There was something mysterious about it. And when found out it was Edward Norton I instantly reminisced his other roles and his peculiar head movements then. I think it was a pefect combination for Director to chose him for the role. Wondering whether Ridley Scott would thought something similar.

Yeah that head movement is so peculiar about him, for me it’s kinda touching, I don’t know but it makes so human and vivid his role as Baldwin IV!

I wish we had kings/presidents today as respected as Saladin and Baldwin IV, they both made peace, and making peace takes great leaders.

A true man for the people. He gave his all for them. Including his suffering.

I didn't think this king was a real-life person. I knew the crusade movie was based on the crusades, but I thought King Baldwin IV was a fictitious character. Oh wow, I am very surprised that he was real.

It is a great video, thank you very much! Edward Norton was so real, so true being King Baldwin the 4 th! Very hard to describe the man behind the King. We should pray for him, for his soul, even after so many years and thank him for the peace he kept! A very beautiful soul, a great man, a true King, who knew respect, given and earned!

I really respect Baldwin IV not only for his gentle nature but also because of his amazing skills as a diplomat and military general.

Balduin couldnt ride a horse anymore, not even in the battle of Montgisard where he defeated Saladin. He could only move in a palanquin. He had no fingers, no nose and was blind...

King Baldwin was riding in combat until around 1182, when he was 21. At Montgisard, when he was 16, he was very much in the saddle fighting, but with a crippled right arm.

Baldwin should have been the MC of the film

Alexander the Great has NO descendant: his children were killed at young age. His sole full sibling, his sister Cleopatra (not the one you are thinking to) may or may not have descendants. Nobody knows. His half-siblings have no descendant. However, some of his cousins actually have descendants and, as incredible as it seems, it is traceable. It is a well known fact that Baldwin's paternal half-sister Isabel was descendant of King Alexander I of Macedon (Alexander the Great's male line great-great-great-grandfather) on her mother's side. As for Baldwin himself, it is less sure. One of his great-great-grandfathers was Ruben I, Prince of Armenia. Some historical sources (Matthew of Edessa, Kirakos Gandzaketsi...) say Ruben was descendant of the Bagratuni dynasty but this is a disputed point. If this is true, Baldwin was descendant of Alexander I too. Not as good as being descendant of Alexander the Great himself but that's the best we have.

Mesmo doente enfrentou com fé força garra e coragem todas as adversidades de seu tempo, foi sem duvida nenhuma um notável rei que deixou exemplo muito lindo. Com certeza ao sair deste Plano da terra seu espírito resplandecente se tornou sim um grandioso Mestre Assenso. Ciente de suas limitações e contaminação física, abriu mão de muita coisa que um homem comum nesta terra não suportaria viver sem, mas que com maestria e presença fez valer um reino onde era um líder maravilhoso, justo, íntegro e amado por todos, respeitado e admirado pelos seus adversários. Que exemplo lindo que este Ser de Luz deixou na Terra e seu belíssimo exemplo ainda ressoa....depois de quase 900 anos após sua morte.
