I'm totally cool with that. Honestly for my first playthrough I'm going to go the evil route just because I know that most people aren't and I want to see everything that everyone else is going to miss. Even though it's not something I would normally do, Larian still put so much effort into the game only to have a section that most people won't see and frankly I think that it deserves to be seen. As a result, if you need any spoiler information for an evil playthrough I will try to get that for you. 😉

Dude this is SICK. I , just like you really hope Larian studios has put the realm of Shadow fell in the game. Shadow Heart is an advocate of Shar, I will remain hopeful that not only her personal progression as a dark cleric will lead us there; also the story in general. I can't speak with certainty but I'd be willing to bet that you know a little bit more than you're allowed to display. Ha ha, well keep writing the good stuff which THIS certainly is!!! Great ambience by the way.

I started following your channel because of your lore and character videos before early access.

You are spoiling us with all these videos

Is anyone else stuck in this Limbo of waiting for games to release and at the same time not wanting to start anything new?

A cool series you could make when bg3 comes out are unusual methods to handle various encounters. Theres so much freedom in the game and it would be kinda cool to see really odd ball ways of handling different situations

You have a gift for storytelling! Keep this series going. I doubt you will run out of stuff to talk about! :)

I would love for shadar kai to be a elf subrace thats added somewhere down the line.

I'm new to baldurs gate and DnD in general, so these lore videos have been entertaining and getting me hype for my 1st BG game! Thx! If DoS 2 is anything to go by, it's gonna be quite the experience

Minsc and Boo's Journal of Villainy was written by BG 1 and 2 Lead Creative Designer James Ohlen, who wrote most of the games, so while the book's canonicity is up for debate I would hardly consider it "fan fiction."

The Riven and Cale books by Paul Kemp are truly masterpieces. Ill be thrilled if any of that gets into bg3.

Man, I really appriciate these videoes. I played BG1 and BG2 way back in the day, and it`s nice to get som ekstra content for the universe.

I love these videos! We play a lot of D&D, but a lot of home brew stuff, so I don't know a lot of this lore. It's super interesting! I also love the visuals you put into the videos, all the art makes the lore even more beautiful. Thanks for another great Sunday Lore vid!

I used to be properly intrigued with the Plane of Shadows with MOTB in NWN2 with its secretive chilly nature. Looking forward to a re-visit, albeit altered after the Spellplague. Thanks for these videos, I deeply enjoy the lore + storytelling. Keep up the good work!!

Huh... I thought the Raven Queen was just a CR thing, but I see she is also in the Forgotten Realms. Pretty cool entity: she was nearly killed by Corellon and Lolth (two elven gods) and she survives in the Shadowfell rebuilding herself with memories and emotions. Her motivations or goals a mystery. Gods are weird in the Forgotten Realm honestly, but the Raven Queen in intriguing. She is logically opposite to Shar who encourages forgetting ones past. Entities are almost all at war between each other in the Shadowfell.

all i remember is you said ravenqueen and the audio went "caw caw" and i laughed, a visual of you editiing getting them caws right made me laugh more than it should have 😆, good day.

These videos help get me through until the game releases. Keep up the awesome work. 🤘🏻

Great vid ^.^ you can get to the shadowfell in NWN2 MotB, its pretty cool 😁😁 You can also briefly go there in the first NWN1 dlc about the netherese flying city. forgotten the name of it lol.

Very cool, the only race I play when I can help it, I seriously hope they have Sahadar-Kai in the game somehow. I *WAS* gonna play a Half-Drow but if I get a Shadar-Kai from the start that'll 100% be me!

Relevant and interesting lore I based a campaign on: Gloomwrought is the Shadowfell shadow echo version of what became Thultanthar; Thultanthar is the material plane version of Gloomwrought. They are sister cities. I had always wanted to run a Shadowfell campaign but struggled with reasons to go there. I had a new player and by chance he was really wanting to have a "hideout" like a mage tower. I set him in front of the map of Faerun and, knowing literally nothing about the world, he pin pointed the Shade Enclave in the middle of 3e or 4e Anauroch. So I was like cool, there's our destination, I'll spend a week or so looking at the lore. To my vast and incomprehensible surprise, the game more or less unfolded organically from there and within the lore. Thultanthar was in Shadowfell for 1700 years, and setike in the late 1300s they came back to netheril/Anauroch to reestablish their empire, the effort thereof lasted about 100 years before they assaulted neoMyth Drannor and Elmonster brought the floating shadow city down. Well, what happened for those 1700 years in Shadowfell? I don't know, but I can tell you what happened in my campaign immediately preceding the events of tieir return to prime material Faerun. With the help of a faction of demons (Orcus) that wanted to overthrow the raven queen, and a lich that was using the shadow mythallars to raise undead, the netherese and their army seiged Gloomwrought and attempted to have two sides planes under their control in their new empire. The siege failed though, thanks to some derpy newb heroes. Epic

Wolfheart on the official Baldurs Gate 3 subreddit they released a teaser video. It said the full game will be revealed at SGF. And we get a look at one of the other big bads.

Halsin was talking about an area that clearly sounded like the shadowfell to me.

funny i am just considering you buy the adventure books for the curse of Strahd because i like the horror-theme and now there is more info on some of that here. i would love to see some quest take us to Barovia or just meet more vamps than astarion ;)

I know Astarion has a throwaway line where he mentions Strahd by name. Maybe it's just an Easter Egg, but as a veteran CoS player, if we end up in Barovia in any capacity, I'll poop my pants. Honestly I'd pay good money for a standalone Ravenloft game.

We need to work on your pronunciation of Thultanthar tho And a small correction if I may, the Shadarkai are not really natives of the Shadowfell but you could definitly argue they have become native since they are there since the beginning of splitting of Elf pantheon. What might be also good to mention is that it is a reflection of multiple material planes

According to the lore it is located in the "Domains of Dread" which are demiplanes within the Shadowfell. So yes & no lol.

It would not all together shock me if moonrise towers turned out to be in the shadow plane. I'm not saying it is I'm just speculation.

So if one moseys on into the Shadowfell and they are more likely to suffer from "apathy, dread, and madness", what happens if they are already apathetic, full of dread, and mad? The Shadowfell sounds like the inside of my mind.

I am very conflicted, can you help me decide. I don’t know whether to get early access now as i cannot wait to play it anymore, or whether to save the experience for full release. I just don’t like that my progress won’t transfer and i’ve spoiled the early game.

just curious many many years ago i did a adventure that was in Ravonloft the mist took us . Straud & Lord Soth we got the pleasure of visiting there domains they were close to each other. i dont recall hearing that we were in shadowfell is all but like i said that was many years ago ...thx all

@@naz88-36 Wolf briefly mentions during the "history of Shar" chapter that it was originally called the Plane of Shadow. From what I can tell his script is based on the Forgotten Realms Wiki since a lot of the words are identical, and the sentence structure is only slightly altered most of the time. If you'd like to know more that's the place to read.

i really hope we don't see anything to do with the domains of dread / strahd in particular because 5e really massacred the lore from previous editions and characterisations
