Do you need to have a certain minimum in your account to trade futures? I have a very small TDA account and am not able to trade futures.

Yes. TDA requires at least $1.5k. Plus I think if you want to give yourself the best opportunity to win you should do this strategy with $5k per contract. With that said, TastyTrade will allow you to trade options on futures with less than $1.5K. I believe they only require you to have the amount required to do the trade based on buying power.

Thanks for the video, but I have a question: Based on some of your other Dorian Way rules. Such as no trade should be more than 5% of your total account, then a $5000 trade would imply that I must have a $100,000 account. There is also the other rule you have to never invest more than 40% of your account at any time. Am I misunderstanding those rules? Or is there something special about this trade that makes those rules inapplicable? Or, maybe I misunderstand this particular trade and it is far less than $5000? Thanks again.

We say you shouldn't lose more than 5% of your account for a single trade, not you shouldn't use more than 5% of your account for a trade. If you are not trying what we consider short-term trades then you shouldn't use more than 40% of your account size. We consider this trade as short-term and you shouldn't be using your capital too long for the trade. With that said, you do have to manage the trade correctly and we teach that.
